Edit topology question (answered!)

Sorry to not answer before, but i was pretty bussy.

I tried both methods, and the first one still have the problem that the pointer snaps to the back topology, so if you have a model with a lots of topology points it make it very hard, so here the problem that i see is not the visibility is the interaction of the back part.

And the second method, i followed the tutorial, but when i arrive to the part to start to retopology, but acording the tutorial (if i understanded it correctly) you start to retopology without bind with the model, that allow me to just retopology the zsphere, and if i bind the besh i have the same problem than before. I’m doing something wrong?

Hello,

You should not have to bind anything.

You start with the sculpt you are going to retopo, and append a zsphere to it as a subtool. Then you go to the rigging menu and select Edit Topology. As you begin to apply your topology, it should automatically snap to your model in the subtool menu.

When you are done, you just go to the Adaptive Skin menu and select Make Adaptive Skin.

Take care,

Has anyone managed to get the projection working after retopologising the mesh?
Cant get it to work in version 4 and it was a breeze to do in the previous version.

Pharion3d > Use instead of Projection, Projectall, it worked perfectly for me, even when I retopologized just parts of model, in Zbrush 4.

Thank You Grfx for the Link - I would never have found this Information by myself.
And the credits goes to Joseph Drust for sharing his knowledge. :+1: This really helps me a lot.

Magesh117, turn off Ghost and Transparency buttons on right shelf.

Thank you … It worked…

Hi Guys.

I havent done much re-topology in ZB4 due to this problem, so have been just building good meshes to start with, however Im wanting to use it now, and unfortuntaly non of the work arounds work. No amount of tweaking front or back trans levels work?

There must be a fix for this by now!

Thanks.

Sorry for taking so long in getting back to this thread.
I’ve been looking at ZBrush Workshops (www.zbrushworkshops.com), with a view to becoming a member.
Whilst browsing the site I noticed there was a free TOPOLOGY workshop, which I promptly digested from beginning to end. The site is run by Ryan Kingsley, a ZBrush wizard and tutorial expert.
Within the Topology workshop Ryan explains that there does seem to be an issue with topology in ZBrush4. He then goes on to explain his workaround.

I haven’t had a chance to try the workaround yet. I just thought this may be useful to those who are still having issues in continuing their projects due to this bug.

Either way the workshop is a really useful reference on how to re-topology’s.

I’m having the same problem. I keep seeing tutorials and demos with the retopo tools but can’t seem to get the same results. I looked through the posts and it SEEMS that it’s a zb4 thing. Is that really the case?

Here’s what I keep seeing… and here’s what I get (mine on the left)…

Sorry about that… The above quote was the one I thought I commented on…
