Ecorche Anatomy

Thanks very much for your comments on the baby model.

Knutis, I started of with a base mesh of very low topology which was re-topped around a basic zsphere model. The idea of having such a low topology is that the model had a few different outcomes, with one being for an Augmented Reality animation. The Model itself took around 6 hours, but then many more tweaks and texturing from fresh photo were applied as a friend of mine had just given birth. In the end the photo based texture was hardly used and what you see is 80% hand textured work with painting of vessels and wrinkles, hair etc. From this first model I went onto produce a full set covering not only the week by week development of the Fetus, but also each carnegie stage in the early weeks, resulting in a set of around 60 model. I have shown a few examples of the early stages below and an example of a a couple of places these models have been used.

Just WOW. Really cool :+1:

really cool stuff man.

Thanks so much for your comments. I had a play around with the Dynamesh function and came up with this, inspired by the work of scupltor John Isaac I saw a while back

Awesome work on the last one!
I also love the baby!

Excellent … just superb models and renders! My favorite is the new born baby, very sweet pose and the tiny veins add so much to the realism. Top Row!

Very cool! Nice sculpt.

This is freaking great, I love the subtleness on the paint job, and the veining, i’m really into abstract anatomy and medical art. so this is right up my ally. I was not familiar scupltor John Isaac.
so thank you for a great post. good job
