Awesome!, and it really works!, the best way to getting better in zbrush, ill do it!, just one hour! so excuse me, sculpting something every day, but with one specific theme every month right?, so cool practice!.
i end up doing a few hours a day anyway so this might be good. i watched this film recently and wanted to do the main character, this is just over a hour, all from the default sphere, and without looking at reference, now that i have looked i have lot’s to fix.
[]
An hour and half. First time starts with a plane. Hope it looks like him.

hey Jackzhang these have a lot of progress you can see visible improvements with each one… thanks for putting this together the challenge thread here these days seems to be slow maybey this will draw some attention back to the comunity here and get more people involved…
on a side not i was wondering if any body here would be interested
to have an animal sculpting challenge based on a specific species for that week… since each one is distinct from another it would help people to understand forms and structure better… i almost think it would be a good idea to choose a distinct species for that week or better yet a new animal each month so more people can join if they want to…
does anybody else think it would be nice to have a monthly animal challenge based on a specific species for that particular month?..
just a thought for those of us that like to sculpt wildlife here…
hey K_Dubeau really love the life in the forms that you put into your sketches and can definitely see an improvement in your newest head…
hey space liking the start of this newest sketch the forms and structure is already showing through even early on at this stage looking forward to where it progresses from here…
well as for me im hoping to post something soon if i get time…
/wave. hi there. Just to clear something up here. The CHALLENGE is a self challenge. Challenge your own observation, your own knowledge, your own skills and your own speed. We do not compete or compare our own result with others.
Therefore the monthly focus for each of us at E.D.A.H each month are different. Kevin has his own schedule and I have mine. At the end of the month we only compare our first work of that month with the last work of that month.
many ppl at E.D.A.H@CGTalk confuses too. Some of them step into the thread and go “but I dont’ know zbrush” or “but I’m an environment guy”. No, E.D.A.H is not like Jackzhang gives a topic each month and everyone works on that subject. Everyone is the initiator their own.
the reason that I put up some “rules” or “guidelines” is simply to create a bit seriousness. And those rules can help you noticing your improvement at the end of the month. For instance, I said post your first minute and your last minute and say how long it takes you. if you really do an hour(or two) a day, at the end of the month you will notice something like “oh, look, first one 2 hours i can only do this and that. the end of the month same within 2 hours i can do this this this this and that and I get better result as well”.
the last thing that i want to say is, E.D.A.H is a multi-benefit action. It doesn’t only help to improve your zb knowledge, or anatomy knowledge. It also help you to learn how to learn. smart learning curve + certain amount of practice = success and that’s almost the only way to be success.
oh im sorry Jackzhang i understand now so this is more of a motivation thing for ones self so we have day by day visible representation of the progress we have from on day to the next …
i understand now sorry for the confusion i thought this was going to be like a daily challenge for every body at zbrudh central the way it was sounding like the weekly challenges and monthly challenges that we have had in the past with zbrush community…
well anyways for what its worth heres about 40 minutes worth of work…

There’s no need to be sorry at all my friend.
you don’t need daily challenge at zbc or cgs. Everyday IS a challenge~
awesome 40 minutes. totally dig the feeling.
Jackzhang: Hey i like so much your last sculpt, is Woody Allen is’n it?, so COOL!
troy1617:, you’re fast! in 40 minutes and you’ve got all the shape, just great
Well, this post motivates me so much!, and i do my first E.D.A.H, such a good excersise! and at the same time having fun!. This is the result after two hours (i think i need to improve my speed) of pushing, pulling, smoothing and moving polygons from the PolySphere, a face! , so Thank you guys for the motivation!.

Ok IM in, I always have an hour a day, I just might not be able to commit that hout to this thread, but I will try. I am trying to find some other Modders or game designers… Chat first, plans and coroboration after.
Great Thread!!
How many active points was Abe there as you sculpted? And did you use High Def B4 you finished? Post or PM some flow if you could. I really like the RealClay look to that. I get sucked into super polished so often, I like that style.
