Dmitrij Leppée Sketchbook

Here’s another one; I’ll just cruise the web for an interesting pic / face and jump into modeling it. None of these are retopologized and don’t alow me minor details, but I eventually plan to do it.

Thanks for stopping by

LOOKING GREAT Cherub…:+1:
Your a natural born EXPRESSIONIST…:+1:
I remember reading somewhere that Michelangelo put out the first work of true expessionistic painting when he did the Last Judgement fressco,…so your in good company…

Thank you sooooo much SpiritDreamer! I’m very fond of Michelangelo as well  His last works are where I’m at most of the time. Means a lot coming from you.

Here’s my first rendering experiment in zbrush. I followed PSTCHOART’s steps, and did a few things differently. Thanks PSTCHOART

Your last updates are looking very good :+1:
Jack is coming along nicely too

Thanks for the comms Cherub! I appreciate it. :D. Your Jack looks pretty awesome. That’s some badass sculpting.

Thanks so much guys!

I feel I’ve started enough faces, I’ll now try to complete them all.

I have an idea of blending the heath joker with jack joker by making him more realistic. We’ll see. This is just a quick paintover with a few overall form tweaks.

Thanks man!

Here’s some more.

Hey Cherub…OUTSTANDING…:+1: I lik your color choise…works great to enhace the mood of the piece.:+1:
If it’s a document, you might want to hit the edges of the glasses and shirt with the 2 and a half D smudge brush…very lightly…works great to smooth out those jagged edges…

Thank you so much SpiritDreamer! How do you do that? Do I go to paintstop? Thanks! (I’d normally do it in photoshop but was too lazy hehe) :+1:

ohh man this is just awsome! grate idea!
love it!

Great work on Jack & the two ladies at the top of this page: it’s great to see how you refrain from going into high polycounts and microdetailing; even at these lower subdlevels the sculpts contain (or suggest) detailing and texture (on top of underlying bone/muscle & fat structures) that’s very good.

“Less is More”

Citing Woody: “Ride like the wind cowboy!”

 :+1: .

HEY Cherub… The smudge brush is right in the 2.5D menu in Z Brush…top row…5 over from the left.
That 2.5D brush menu is right below the 3D mesh menu, …where the sphere, cylinder, cube ect. primitives are at…Just press on the sphere in the window at the top right of your screen when you turn on the Z Brush program, and the menu for all of the 2.5D brushs comes up on the top right of your screen…Some powerful brushs in that 2.5D section…Great for illustration and painting, ect…

Gordon-v thank you thank you thank you!

Etcher you make me smile. Thank you! :) Hey SpiritDreamer, I'll try it, thanks for the trouble! I roughed in a couple of friends for Joker, this is one of them. I'll post Morgan Freeman when I'm somewhat more satisfied with him. The idea is to firstly model interesting faces, and model them in their non-characteristic expressions, but still to make no mistake of who it is, which I think is a very hard goal to achieve by itself. A little side project is this, the Batman actors, I'm not making one movie particular cast, but picking the most interesting faces here as well, and I find Jack, Michael and Morgan all very interesting, at some point I hope to model the old Alfred too. Also I'm redoing their outfits as I like hehe

Just keeps getting better…Amazing progress happening in your work and sketchbook, plus you are managing to keep what is in you … stylewise… your own…in the process of progressing…which is no small feat to achieve…:+1:

SpiritDreamer, glad you feel that way

Here’s Lucius Fox, my first time portraying an African-American in any technique, I’m having some trouble but I think this will suffice for a base.
C&C welcome!

lucious fox looks good! :+1: i like especially the mouth and chin area

Hey Schiefer! I know you from around here, great work, and a pleasure to have you visiting  Thanks for the kind comments

Hey Dmitrij, well done man! I love where you’re going with the Batman concept. Batman in your style could end up being a really bad ass product if you finish it. (nudge nudge…finish it!) You should check out Bob Basset’s Journal for inspiration, I think it’s right up your alley.

One crit is that looking at your images, I think you need to turn the lights up a bit and increase contrast. I know you’re going for a dark look, but your images are getting too desaturated, and it muddies everything together. If I squint I can’t pick out darks and lights very well, which is a pretty basic thing that should happen. Just my 2 cents, nice work as always dude!
