Dmitrij Leppée Sketchbook

really lovely!

Thanks Disco Stu and CherryMotion! Glad you like it

Hey! These are latest anatomy updates on my job. I’m sharing a breakdown of how I created the femur cross section. Modeled in Zbrush, and rendered in Keyshot.

If interested in more breakdowns, past and future I invite you to my blog of sorts: https://dmitrijleppee.carbonmade.com/blog

…and by sick I mean Awesome!:sunglasses: you’ve go some serious skills.

Inspiring thread!

Thank you

Great work. Love the cross section on the femur.

The skull looks good but it’s too dark. Bone is very translucent and a real skull let’s a lot of light through. Also some of the sutures look too smooth, mainly on the frontal. The temporal looks good.

I’ve got a couple of real skulls laying around my office so some this sticks out to me more than it would to a regular person. Overall I think it’s an excellent job. Doing anatomically correct anatomy models is not easy no matter how simple the subject may seem.

3dnv, thank you for your nice words! I’m glad it inspires

Mental Frog, thanks for your nice words and feedback! I agree about the sutures, this is for the low poly ingame, so it wouldn’t read them very good if I did more justice to them (but that is the plan eventually either on private work or on job). I also have a skull sitting here, but I don’t have it separate bone by bone so I really couldn’t tell how much light passes through them, can you maybe help in some way? Thank you

I love the pore and inner detail of the bone and fingers as well as the skull. Thank you again for the advice a while ago. I’m making a new demo reel am pushing myself to follow through.

I can get you some pictures of a couple of the major bones in the skull. I have a disarticulated skull here.

teddy007kong I’m glad you are pushing yourself! Good luck! Thanks for the kind words as well

Thanks MentalFrog! Eagerly awaiting

This is the central nervous systems I’ve been wroking at on and off for quite some time now at my job.
Everything is modeled and textured in Zbrush and rendered in Keyshot.
Cranial nerves coming out of the brain stem were modeled with Zspheres with skull as a reference to lay them on top of, and the brain fibers with a custom insert multimesh brush laid piece by piece on top of specially prepared bits and pieces of the interior of the brain.

Thank you for looking!

wow you have a lot of work here man your progress is awesome, I am digging your stuff, very interesting

Wolverine Fan, thank you so much! I’m glad you find it interesting!

This is a recent piece, an olfactory epithelium. I usually wouldn’t publish this kind of work as it might not be as interesting as some other more popular subjects, but I had so much fun doing this one - more than anything else in recent time, and contrived even more workflows in ZBrush in executing this scene, so when a work includes problem solving it’s heaven for me

Stunning. I had to google it and this is a million times better than any image I found of it. Top Notch work as usual.

Thank you Gordon! That really means a lot, thanks for your time to cross reference!

This is so beautiful!

It reminds me of high-end ceramics.

Thanks so much Erik! Yeah, me too

In the same fashion of deforming stuff in Zbrush I’ve created this one;

Prehistorik - The primordial yawn
Zbrush + Photoshop

Out of my comfort zone a monster type of character

Outstanding as usual, great detailing on the skull and bones.

wonderful work.love the render.keep rocking.

Thanks so much guys!

Here’s another one I’ve started the other day: dynamesh spehere, and my new favorite - spiral brush  Quick polypainted textures and a preview render in Keyshot.
