Very very muh detailed character! And the material looks so amazing too!~
I still can see tiny skin textures on his arm. Are those sculpted in geometry also?

Hey!

First off all thank you very very much for all the amazing comments and top row!! I know it’s sometimes difficult finding the time to write a few lines. There is so much amazing stuff around and you can’t post everywhere. I value every comment! Thank you! The most important question first: What material did you used? Can you share it? To be honest, I don’t know from where I get this one… I’m already searching now for a few day’s almost everywhere but I cannot find it. I was sure that I have downloaded it from ZBrushCentral. I was collecting every good material I saw in the forum over the last few months. I have put all my materials in one folder, so I don’t have the original name of the ZIP file anymore. It was a package with a few similar materials named Z1, Z2 … Z9 and Z91 to Z98. I would give it away if it would be my one material of course. I don’t think that it came together with a tutorial DVD. I can’t remember… (I still believe that I found it here) Maybe one of you knows where we can find it. It’s truly a great material and looks a little bit like the mudbox standard one. I use it almost on every sculpt I do from the third suddiv level on. womball: It still took a few long days to do stuff like that. I was working with my standard basemesh (I should work on that, too. It has too many polygons in a few areas…) I made everything new, no reuse of already sculpted parts. nellement: for anatomy resources to study from, check my post on [http://www.selwy.com/2007/interesting-books/](http://www.selwy.com/2007/interesting-books/) I’m still learning with these books Jelmer: You’re right about the eyes. They worked well on the last stuff but here… I don’t know. I forgot to try with gray eyes only. Kupo and Jason Belec: It was intend to make his face quite emotionless. But maybe I reduced the mimic a little bit too much. He looks almost frozen now. I still have some big problems with the anatomy. There are some really weak spots. I see the problematic areas but I’m still not able to fix them with my current knowledge. Whatever I do, it looks wrong. I have already a few ideas in my mind how to fix that gap in my knowledge but that will take some time :) chud: the tentacle itself is on object with 3 million polygons. I append the bowels as subtool. Mkk316: every critic and suggestion is very welcome! snowkaren: the tiny skin details are sculpted to. In fact they aren’t that tiny. The complete model has a polygon count of 3, 5 million. So it’s not that unbelievable high. I did them with a simple alpha painted in photoshop. For the render I exported a midres mesh out of ZBrush (60.000 polygons) All the details are coming from the normalmap. The scene was very easy to handle in 3ds max. Once again, thank you very very much for all the amazing comments! That’s really great and encourages me to move on and making better stuff! And thank you also for visiting my website. I think I’m not going to post new stuff soon. The stuff I do still not looks as it should and so I will go back to the drawing table and start anew (if I find the time to do that… :) ) Best regards from Italy, Selwy

i remember from where you probably downloaded those meterials .
this 10 meterials posted at tweakcg a few month ago .
and if i remember good it was Adam lewis materials .
i have them to in my toolbox , thanks !

Dont take too long a break from posting new stuff

@smeagol: YES! I think you are right! But where is tweakcg now?

Tweakcg is done , Kolby just did not have enought time to keep running up the forum .

ok …about this unfindable material:), is not important where is the forum you took it… normally if you look in zb at its name (Z18 for example-MatCap in your case ) , it should be positionated someware here C/Program files/Pixologic/Zbrush/Zstartup/Materials.
Here you can find it , pack it as a rar and post it to the forum …hope it will work.
anyway if is not working ,please somebody who knows the material ,post it , becouse is one of the few zb materials witch looks almost perfect as clay. Thanks!

Brillant work Selwy, very inspiring.

I looked around for a copy of Adam Lewis’s materials but it seems after tweakcg went down so did all the links to them, but hopefully someone can re-host them.
