I think it is not necessary to do such dark background before the face. The image is looked flat from it. Better flip the background image on horisontal. :

Looking good. though I’m not sure about that hand-drawn photoshop effect with the vertical and horizontal strokes (I think it’s a PS effects :o), it makes it look kinda pixelated in the shadow areas and the nose.
keep up the good work :+1:

Really a beautifull portret, but I do agree with k0sm1k on the canvas-effect. It makes me not want to look at that white cloth because my impuls is to think it’s pixelated… Love the collar and laurelthing (whats it in English), how did you do the latter? The face is just unique… :+1: Would you have enough energy for a painted background like a vague landscape in Da Vinci style?
