Jason: Thanks a lot. The vast majority of the time spent on this work was inside zbrush. Although the basemesh components were roughed out initially in Maya (The turntable and helmet subtools were modelled entirely in Maya, prior to exporting to zbrush for warping), all the organic sculpting, positioning and posing were inside zbrush. I also create most of my textures using zbrush via zapplink and Photoshop. I’ll post some WIPS (and hopefully a turntable or two) for comparison shortly.

Freak: I made sure that i spent some time (about a week or so) before the final render with a preliminary version to rough out some colour compositions, before lighting and rendering the scene. The coloured neon-spectrum motif features heavily throughout other Daft Punk imagery, so I tried to make sure this was carried through into my own work.
