nagulov: One thing I always try to do is work on my models in a systematic fashion. I focus on the bigger forms, making sure that they’re as clean as they can. I check this by making sure there are no wobblies on the surface that break up the specular highlights per form. Once I’m happy with the bigger primary forms, I then proceed to break them up with secondary forms while still keeping in mind the strength and cleanliness of each form I’ve established in the primary stage. Once I’m happy with secondary forms, I go through and break them up with tertiary shapes. I only work on surface detail when I am happy with the overall construction of the character. Most of the time I don’t even do the fancy surface noise pass since it does not interest me as much as achieving a clean read in the sculpt with bigger forms.
That would be my tip. Oh yeah, and practice, practice, practice
