Thanks Boozy Floozie for educating us on Wallace ! Very interesting. Wikipedia seems to suggest that he did get good recognition during his lifetime but that it faded later.

Doing āphoto realā is a tough enough skill in itās own right, but photo real on a subject with no more than a dozen black and white photographs to work on is pure art. So often portraits based onā¦erā¦painted portraits look likeā¦erā¦painted portraits, not so here; this is one of those characters you half expect to turn to you and give you a wink. Perfect stuff.
