Wow super clean and tight, gratz
nice and clean work here! i would love to see more …
Very clean and amazing works! Thank you for sharing!
Wow, thanks for all the great responses! I really appreciate it.
voodoodad- the old school shield is awesome! When I got the concept painting for USO Cap I was really excited, that was a really fun piece to work on.
polaroid29- The Red skull was one of my favorites, I’m really happy with how that one turned out. But, I don’t have a specific job title. I’m just a freelance artist, I work for a lot of different companies.
Dman3d- Thanks! These had to match the same clean painted style that they used for the Iron Man and Thor licensing art.
O/MI- Your work is a real inspiration! I’ll be posting more of these Captain America images soon. If you want to see more of my work here’s a link to my gallery: http://jprart.deviantart.com/gallery/
SolidSnakexxx- Thank you! I’m a big fan of your work. Your character work is always fantastic, and the Lady of Naga process was incredibly impressive.
Awesome work !! small_orange_diamond
Amazing job. Really clean but very effective.
Great work. I think I saw the foreshortened Cap on a toy package my son got last summer…or a birthday present bag. Very nice. Would love to see the raw models.
Thanks again for all the amazing comments!!!
jmenna- Thanks! The Toy packaging art was the first Cap illustration that I did. It was actually just a sample piece that I did when I was trying out for the job.
I created the model over a weekend, and now its on everything!
I’ll see if I can post some of the precess stuff, but in the meantime here are a few more of the character images.

Wow. Can we see a flat (no color) render?
You did everything in Zbrush? Even the shield?
Fantastic job, top row, shame it is cluttered with weird trees.
Timing is everything.
All the best.
(where is Paul Bunyan when you need him?)
bicc39- Thanks! I’m glad you liked these Cap images.
rad66203 and jmenna- Here’s a look at the base model. This was an early version before a lot of the sculpting and texturing was finished, but you get the idea. It was a fairly simple model, most of these characters were modeled to be functional, they needed to be easy to pose and render. The deadlines on this job were crazy, and I had to be able to throw something together in a few hours and get to work on the finished pose for the next day. I worked on these images for about 5 or 6 months, it was a really demanding schedule. There were constant revisions, and costume changes. But, when it came to getting this stuff done fast, Zbrush helped immensely!
Also, here’s another finished image of USO Cap.
This is very cool man, well done. Really like the sculpt. I just think the suit looks too smooth and the texture looks like brushed metal.
Amazing !
Thanks for sharing.
Stan Lee should have this hanging on his wall!
I prefer the round shield, but amazing work regardless, nice textures and folds in the gloves…outstanding job
Am I mistaken, or is that a Jack Kirby cover in the background? He and Ross Andru were my two favorite comic artists back in the day. Wish the last one was widescreen so I could use it as my desktop!
Thanks to everyone who commented here, you guys are awesome!
voodoodad- Its really cool that you know that! The background in that picture is the cover to Captain America #1. So, all credit goes to Jack Kirby on this one.
I did up a quick wallpaper sized version of that image this morning, I hope you like it.
I feel like I just got a late Christmas (or early birthday) present! Thanks for going to the trouble of doing that man. Truly appreciated.
And as far as it being cool that I knew that was a Kirby cover… well, let’s just say my wife has other ideas about my knowledge of such things…
Edit; I now have a new wallpaper! Thanks again!
Nice additions! Very cool poses as well!
Amazing work!
