Hey Kolby,
In case you didn’t get my other message, I’ll post again here. How do you manage to work in Zbrush by dividing the mesh into seperate pieces? It seems there are some problems that one would encounter that I’m not sure what to do with. I’m sort of assuming that you have a base mesh with the same UV’s throughout, so that when you bust up the model you detail each piece and then export a seperate map, then combine all of them in photoshop…of course this is speculation. IF this isn’t the case, then are you rebuilding the seperate pieces and xy shrinkwrapping? In any case, how do you deal with continuity issues? For example say you have pattern that spans across the entire character, like that of a crocodile, it must be seamless and continuous throughout; if you can never see the mesh again as a whole, how can u make your details line up? I understand that perhaps you are planning seams, but on an organic character there is limited opportunity to do that. Also, is all lost if you want to make larger scale or proportion changes after you have decided to split the mesh? Just curious how this workflow works.
