Thank you for all your kind remarks.
DustinBrown: First off let me say that I’m a big fan of your work. Your models are a great inspiration for this community. I’ll give what you said about the tongue and plants shot! Though I wanted this to be a man sized creature, I still agree about the plants needing more size.
As far as this amphibious creature is concerned, I didn’t enter this project thinking ‘I’m going to make a frog character.’ I approached it with the same kind of open alley design process as always, developing the character as I go, adding and removing ideas as they come to mind.
Near the end, for Friedrich I said to myself… I want this to be a character that would be fun to play in an adventure game. A whimsical and fantasy-like design. That said I’m also a huge fan of mash-up and chimerical creatures. I’ve seen frog-men done before and I wanted to be at least a little unique in my own design. He’s not a frog, not a lizard, he’s Friedrich.
If I had to make up a species for this amphibian he’d be a… Frizard-Man? Pretty lame but hey… I can put effort into thinking up a species name anytime!
Once again thanks for all your support! And keep kickin’ ass out there, people!
