Birth of the black butterfly

Any ideas to reduce the visual effect ? Painting some more wrinkles along the upper leg ? Oh, the feet…i am not good at feet. well, perhaps i will take some more hours tomorrow to get these points fixed…Damn ! Thought i could call it final…Grmpf

Thx,

Thomas

you could turn the foot on its side, which would be much more natural for that pose, but the overall effect of the relaxed pose of the legs wouldn’t match the dramatic stuff going on with the upper body.

You might start by having the left leg mirror the right, which would be natural, and then start tweaking the pose from there.

Speaking as someone who has severly burned themself, I would much rather freeze to death! From my experience, you don’t just sit down while you burn!

I know it drastically changes the composition, but with the back arching like that, it would look better if the figure is standing. The lines of the legs should flow into the lines of the body.

Or do what photographers do: crop the legs.

oh no, dude, BUT: u are absolutelly GREAT @ hands I really like…:+1:

-cheerZZZ-

Thomas, how’d you get the smoke on the hand and the clouds?
photoshop, yrou 3rd party 3d app or ZB?

nice ideas by the way… love the style.

thx,

The Fire&Smoke Effect is done in 3dsmax with FumeFX. Overall the image is rendered out of 3dsmax with Vray and composed in Photoshop. The “burned” parts are just layerd textures with different blending modes…

As long as i look to the image, and read the comments, the more i think i will overwork the feet. I dont get it, why people dont see the upper leg. They ask, if he has no “upper leg”, until they get the perspektive…I really do love this perspective and unsual cameraangle. I agree with the feet, and i will fix that tomorrow. But i not gonna change the angle, just to show the upper leg. People should have some 3D thinking…or is it just me ?

I hope this version is ok now…Took me about 5 hours to fix the leg…Made some other improvements and this might be a final…or ?

That adds to the atmosphere tenfold:+1: This image I feel has great impact and an unsettling mood.Really well done,my only thoughts are the super smooth butt, leg and lower torso seem to be pleasant parts in a shock image.Perhaps some minor details or shadows may work. But I add I really love this !5 Stars for me…:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

This is a great pleasure. Thanks for your words,

well, i could add some dirt to the feet / lower legs…Just a note ! I`ll try this tomorrow when my head is fresh again, I will have to go to bed now…Too tired.

Thx and regards,

Thomaskl

That fixed leg looks much better now.

That’s much better, nice! Maybe the foot and special the nails on it could be better. They have to sink down in the top of the toe. But it’s more fast to put some sand on it.

Thx,

well, it helped to make the legs dirty and i tried to improve the foot. I think - this is it, now…

Awesome concept. Is it rendered in ZBrush or another app? I take it there was a lot of postwork too?
