beast dude, nudity

pretty impressive work!!
thanks for sharing your process.:+1:

You could keep pushing it forever, but this sculpt is intensely organic. Fantastic work, thanks for sharing.

this is really great! :+1: :+1: :+1:

metamesh - since you are using 16 bit displacement - how do you arive at your alpha gain setting?

I currently am experimenting with using the settings from exporting a .ma file since I also own Maya, but there should be a way to establish these numbers for those that do not own Maya.

So far the only way I am having success is to forego the displacement and just export a silhoette model and go with normals/bump only, but I am still experimenting.

hosch, by alpha gain you mean the amount of displacement you need?
if so, once you create a map in zb, you will get a value in the displacemenet amount sildebar next to it, generally is a really small number ( 0.003 or something…) you will need to multiply that value by the scale value found under “export” and that will give you the amount of displacement. Does that make sense? cheers!

Alex

great model as always Alex:)

Thanks a lot Metamesh for the BEST zbrush to 3dsmax/vray explanation !!

Its very well explain and your workflow look easy and intelligent to reproduce.

Why you don’t use the vraybmp filter of vray

ps: sorry for my english

He is awesome. Extremely believable. Great anatomy. I can’t wait to know Zbrush better.

I’m curious where your Jordu Schell imagery or 3D model came from ? That specific troll bust was a private commission for a 3D company.

Can you tell me where the original imagery or 3D data for this troll came from ? That particular Troll bust was a private commission for a 3D company.

Great work MetaMesh…I love the detailing! If they ever re-make a PROPER version of Salems Lot…this has to be the bad-ass leader! hahaha

Thanks for the breakdowns of your work.

As I stated on the first post on this thread, the head of this model is based in a sculpt from Jordu Schell, I don´t really know what 3d data u are talking about? I just had a look at his webpage and I saw some pictures of a sculpture and I modelled the head based on those pictures…

A fantastic looking model and i am looking forward to checking out the tutorial videos. Just out of interest did you use Arnold Schwarzenegger as your anatomical reference for the torso? The stomarch area in particular reminds me very much of his from his bodybuilding heyday.

beautiful render dude, the weight on the characters upper body is awesome, really like the small details too.

i was just wondering though if you mapped the model at all or was the skin renderred with a shader?

Impress with ur anatomy study. Excellent pose! Fantastic model!

great sculpt and material work! really nice forms and sense of weight. i’m particularly impressed with how you gave the skin a sense of elasticity…you can see the subtle stresses in multiple directions on the skin as well as some nice stippling that gives the impression of sub surface fat deposits. care to share what brushes and/or techniques you used to accomplish that subtle work with the rest of the ZBC world at large?

Again, great stuff! very deserving of the top shelf!
thanks!

wonderful work
everything is ver good

metamesh! I should have known  great work mate!

thanks everyone for the comments, yes I did use arnold as reference , but i also used some other bodybuilders pictures, not just arnold.
About the brushes and techniques, nothing special, I tend to use the clayTubes brush, pinch, smooth, move, and the displace brush, and i tend to use the default alphas too…
thanks again for the comments!

First off all great sculpt… Ur displacement instructions have really helped me…

I was wondering if you could share your material setting with me/us… cause i personally really like the clay look…

regards!

And once again thank you so much for breaking down the displace process
