madmatt, Organic isn’t really my thing, but I did have to spent as much time on it in the 2 1/2 years I was at fuel. about when Mudbox came out so had to learn it for work or get replaced :o

Sorry no updates. but ive been on him a little bit each night reworking topology…Almost there now. Gotta relax it to make it all squares in zbrush after i reproject. it was 90% hand done in max with some Next for the arms and legs so thats why there is no anatomy anymore.

Er… me no like. At least if you’re aiming for the Weta balrog.

See, it’s far too humanoid, the stance and the proportions… Weta’s creature is far more animalistic, in many ways it’s like a bull. Longer neck, different shoulder structure, almost horizontal torso and stronger tail to balance it all. It also has a sort of a hunchback. Its stance is actually closer to something like a t-rex, but obviously with far bigger arms.

But let me reiterate, all of this is only valid if you’re trying to recreate the Weta design.

Hey LY, you got any more views of that statue? haven’t seen it in all my googling.
I have been going off this for building the basemesh so far pretty much just for topo though. I will have to re-proportion in zbrush, ad the hunch and wings etc so whatever ref you got gimmmeeeee

I’ve sent you an email to denny at engineered net nz with some more images. It’s an old Sideshow sculpt that doesn’t seem to be available any longer - luckily I saved the images back then when we were working on the Khorne demon for Warhammer…

I’m sure the final’s going to be sweet - knowing your abilities with shaders in particular! Keep it coming.

Reworked the entire ***en thing to fit LY’s advice but is looking tons better now,
Still not there yet, got alot of proportional tweaking to go but all the geometry is there to work with.
In the end i Lost about 50% of the detail I’d sculpted but that’s my own fault for forgetting the zbrush workflow.

Looks great, i think those pose/form changes helped a lot for describing the shape. Looking forward to seeing the next update.
