This is super cool!
Wonderful was the name I saved you final shot as so that I could always look at it and get inspired…I go through many posts, looking at whats new, and seldomly leave replies, unless I stumble upon “inspirational creations”!!
Your work is near perfection. Believe me,if anything we humans could create could be termed perfect, this sure would be top row.
I have a couple of questions though…
-
How did you get that membrane/fin like look when you initially had cylinder like or tentacle shaped extusions?
-
Was your final model rendered out in a 3rd app program?? Did you use sss skin and mental ray for your final shot?
-
Were normal maps generated and low bases exported? cos I’m wondering if you decimated the models then rendered, or used normal, cavity and displacement maps.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Teeto.
Thank you all very much! very pleased that the work evokes positive emotions!
Teeto, my English is not well, so pardon me!))

beautiful work-- love how you took the ‘edge’ off of the ‘CG look’… has a nice painterly feel
