I ve never been the 3d forum lurking type of guy and i rarely posted anything i did. But since Nic asked me to post some of the work i did for assassin s creed brotherhood and there seems to be quite a buzz surrounding the game i said why not… so here goes …

Man, again great job. Seriously the best looking clothing of any game I know of.

cool man, glad you posted your work here too :stuck_out_tongue: awesome models :+1:

Haaa M-A , everything started with iphone 4 and now this :), there is first time for everything. I think as I alredy told you your fabric looks great and awesome models , congrats to all the team!!!

How do you manage to make them 6000 tris?! Also how do you fake the thickness of say the belt with only 1 strip of polies. You seem to get the correct thickness for cloth where I would get a paper thin thickness.

Congratulations markyboy your work really looks good! :+1:

amazing work!!

womball: the thickness is given thanks to a normal map . If the character looks so much details, etc that’s because behind those lowpoly version, we’ve made a hires version of the model in Zbrush and then transfert all the details, fold and forms onto the In-game version.

I’m aware of the high res to low res transfers in the normal. Have no idea about creating thickness via a normal though, that’s new to me. How would you sculpt the geometry in zbrush to do that? I guess you use xnormal too?

@markyboy: thanks for chiming in! Great sculpts :+1: !

Great as always - superb detail.

u guys at ubisoft montreal are one of best (if not “da”) in the industry.

in a way it’s a shame that the AC2/B engine can’t show great art style of the game in a proper quality (playing on xbox and u can say that the engine is old and dated) - really hope ur tech team will update the engine for AC3 so you can show your skill even more:)

best of luck.

Really nice work! Congrats for the top row and congrats to the whole team who worked on brotherhood!

Beautiful work and thanks for sharing so us mere mortals can peek behind the scenes.
