cool characters :+1:

Thank you.

Great job guys!

Can you tell me what did you modified to the GoZ scripts? We have similar issues, and I’d check if your solution works for us (on Maya 2015)

Cheers

Thanks everybody for the kind words.

nlsinh Nice characters.
How many

I got on this project in the first half, but not from the beginning. In total i worked on 10 unique characters and 3 or 4 variations. There were other artists working on the project, but i guess Paul made the most characters.

Here are some Zbrush IMM brushes i made for this project. Because when i started the workflow was already fleshed out, i mostly used Paul’s stuff, but there were some assets that needed something different.

The issue we had at the time with ma2013 was that sometimes the geo exported via goz was a total mess ( like i had applied a really high amplitude noise deformer to the mesh ) , the solution i found was on some thread on cgtalk which i do not seem to find now , that was suggesting modifying some of the lines in GoZBrushFromMaya.mel or/and GoZBrushToMaya.mel , i tried to do a search with those name on the forums now but do not seem to find it , nor managed to find the modified files on my hdd ( which i thought i have saved them somewhere ).
Anyhow since i switched to maya 2014 all is working as it should.

If you haven’t tried it already, you might want to export/import via maya ascii (avoid goz altogether) , if creases are your issue , another forum user (Dylan) mentioned to me earlier via pm, and i have to say I never actually imported ma in zbr directly, nor crossed my mind for that matter  … my last resort was obj when goz failed me.

Sorry for my connection. So I can’t give the questions.
If you can, show me your results by wireframe of lowpoly model. How many polygons did you make each models?
I love your productions so much! :+1:Thus I want to learn from them.
Thank you! ^^!

Wow thank you for sharing all the videos and brushes you guys! And character work you did is absolutely amazing, wow! Love the texturing too.:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Regarding ingame resources specs :
-polycount around 7-8k tris for units and simpler models and 10ktris for warjacks and warcasters (including weapons and other attachments)
-texture 1x2048 for entire character (again including any weapons or additional attachments it might have)

For wireframe you can check some below

Hope this clears some things up.

amazing work, nice one.

awesome works guys, looks super good ! also you are godlike for all those shares, be it pipeline vids or actual ressources.
bow down

Thanks so much for sharing all this! I’ve got to admit, I’m a little jealous of how efficient your character pipeline appears to be
Those photoshop brushes/patterns/IMMs also seem like they’ll be handy at some point as well, so thanks for sharing all that. You guys did a really great job on all those assets! Impressive work!

Outstanding modeling and renders. Thanks for all the great resources. :+1:

just awesome)
