***Announcing ZBrush 4 for Windows And MacOSX

Yes they said once ZB4 was released there would be a forum where beta testers could share their experiences, they’re obviously setting it up and you slipped in when they weren’t looking! It’s locked down tight now!

Humm… problably I got a moment where they were working on it, and didn’t take care… I’m not a beta tester. There was 3 threads only:

Cameron Farn - [http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=91473](showthread.php?t=91473) Magdalena Dadela - [http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=91472](showthread.php?t=91472) And Martin Andersson - [http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=91457](showthread.php?t=91457) If you can't see, is because they didn' want I break the "surprise". But by the way, the time for release these info has already passed.

On the Cameron Thread there’s a great tutorial, showing the modeling of an alien and how he renders it. There’s a new section on Render palete, called BPR. there you can produce Transparencey, shadow, SSS, etc.

On Magdalena’s Thread, she teaches how to use Fibers on ZB4.

Martin’s thread is empty yet.

If you can see the threads, save the contents to you HD, before they lock again :stuck_out_tongue:

only beta testers have the honnor to see it!! :td: maybe they are the only that will buy the ZB4 because 90% of us are not a beta tester and we dont have the rights to see it

yeah me either I have never even had a crash under windows 7 x64.

ZBrush is very sensitive to flakey ram.

I suggest running memtestX86+ on your box and seeing if anything comes up.

Never had an issue with zbrush on my win 7 64 bit rig. I have 8 gigs of ram which is decent for zbrush right?

it can’t use it all so it’s acceptable. i’ll join the chorus of no noticeable reliability issues on win7-64

i have had conflicts though eg at one point a bad wacom update crashed z brush on startup everytime. especially if i launched from the taskbar using the pen. but like i said that was wacom. THEY seem to get it wrong quite frequently on win7-64, my current drivers don’t seem to have a working scroll/zoom touchstrip. but updating is usualy a “what’s wrong with them this time” affair

Zbrush works fine on my 32bit computer. Sarcasm meter on high.

Never had a crash on windows 7 64 or 32

Sarcasm on super high.

I truly wonder about 4.0 performance on SSD and raid configs.

stop whining people…and get on with life…sheeesh…its comes when it comes …stop being disappointed over things that havent happened yet

Waiting for August

I don’t know how to thank Pixologic that they decided to have zb4 free upgrade for us 3.5 users. It’s really rare in today times where every company just want to squeeze as much money from their clients as they can with every new software release.Plus how much of new features we got!!! Look at Autodesk huge company , big money tiny upgrades and you got to pay for it. My total respect goes to Pixologic how they treat their customers, you can really feel that we mean something for them !!!

lukx - ministerart - I agree 100%

pixo been around for 10+ yrs, it shows that their sistem works, it also show us that the “other guys” could also do it if only they wanted to, but no, what they reeealy want is “mo money”, to feed us whatever they want, and having enough money to by out the competition!
anybody wants to play monopoly?
ever heard about children in the “I want” fase?

we are artists people, make art with whaterver tool is available, and if its not available, we make it anyways!

pixo, you guys rock! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Let me second all those good sentiments, thanks guys, you’ve created an awesome application.

…just…one…more…DAY!!! gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

I mean…just…two…more…DAYS!!! aaargh! :stuck_out_tongue:

Check your calendar. 9th Aug on the west coast of USA. They have a tendency to release at the end of their day.

When did you start 3D? Autodesk and Softimage XSI has been around for about 20 years.

Autodesk also has about a 6.6 billion market cap as a company.
