great skin!!
Appreciate your comments. I am hopefully going to do some final stuff today. Projection Master and coloring are the goals today.
I really appreciate thinking that this should be top shelved. And apparently, you have some influence. I shall try to remain on your good side. I have posted an old alien rendo that I thought you might find of interest. THIS IS NOT Z BRUSH. Photoshop only. When I saw your piece I felt a certain affinity towards him. I think we share the same sense of humor.
Keep up the good work.
All the work is superb but the brain man¡¡¡¡ what a message¡¡
Great work friend¡

This is wonderful! I have a soft spot for creatures too.
I am so glad to see you here also, am really excited about seeing how you use ZBrush. Man, look at the detailing…I have alot more learning (and experience) to get to this level. Thanks for sharing this…wow.
Hey man,
Your photoshop alien is cool, I love the brain
I also think the back of the head on your other alien is fine the way it is.
mm
Neville, it is truly scary how similar our aliens are… I saved a copy as I love his design. Wonderful color work on him. I’d love to see more of your work. I can definately learn some painting techniqes from you… Also I thank you for your kind words on Finster. Not that the ungrateful bugger appreciates it, but I do!

Hi Neville:
I’m a real fan of your work, and with this you demonstrate that you can translate your skills and talents to the ZBrush medium. I would like to know if you started with ZSpheres , a sphere, a cube, or in an exernal 3D program. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Great job!!!
Have a feeling you will be teaching this before long.
Best of luck!!!
It just wonderful how aliens bring us all together. Hmmmm…
Hello,
The style blending between the rounded, smooth, and classic “grey” type alien and a new sharp, bold, and fierce looking concept is very nice to see. I really enjoy the attention to they eyes (ofcourse) they are entrancing with the ring of spots as well as the feminine elegance of the form from the nose up around the brow and down the cheeks to the chin, like a butterfly. Very well executed wrinkles and detailing. I will wait hopefully for the finished texturing to be posted with more color variance. Great Job

That is a sick @ss alien neville. I love it! I liked the PS one too. Very nice.
Neville! Finally it took you like a year to start using Z-brush. Welcome to the club (we got jackets).
First off I like the model,small_orange_diamond

I can see that even though you got frustrated you had fun! Projection master is the ticket for the finer details. Also You might want to look into creating your own tools (brushes, alphas and patterns). Think of it like your tools you would normally used to sculpt (rakes, scratching tools etc.).
When you model something like this, model it with the mouth open (OOO position), and eyes halfway shut that way in the future you can move around the mouth and blink the eyes to get some expressions out of it. Usually I am creating my base mesh outside of Zbrush in Lightwave or Modo, I have the control for animation or in your case just posing it different.
On the texturing and surfacing end, really go after and utilize the translucency/scattering and this sucker will look even more real. Also start using other surface shaders, you can only do so much with painting as you want surface to respond to light in your designed way.
For the design, I like the HUGE cranium this character has.
man that looks AWSOME!! how long did it take?
just great man. i love the concept. hat’s off
Fantastis work you achieved dude!!!
Kool stuuf, keep the work and loking forward to see more of your work
Hello Neville.
This is a greates work i ever seen before.
But i imagine…how many polys is there…looks like u have a NASA mainframe?
Thanks for your comment G-nome. Since you responded, there have been many great works putting mine deep in the shadows. Too bad work does not allow me any free time to post more. I will, however, put up one soon I did as a demo for the GDC conferance in San Jose California.
All the best!
