He needs to go to the dentist  nice detail though
SanAndreas He could use a good dentist to help out, I can only imagine how bad his breath stinks LOL. But I figured he is a bad MoFo to busy beating people up to brush his teeth.
again thanks Will, for the fix.
nice. akira fan. looking forward to see this completed.
Hey 1stbrother, good to see akira fans. Akira is one of my Fav old school animes always wanted to see the characters done in 3d.
Here is update on the teeth texture. I might still add some more stuff on the teeth still look to clean to me.
Hey buddy!
You using that DT3d skin shader of yours on this?
Nice teeth.
How about trying a little hi-rez displacement on the head?
Works really well with the maya-mentalray shaders you’ve written.
Keep updating…
js
Nice one.
McFarlane Toys did a model of Joker in their “Animation from Japan series 2” set. Might be a handy reference.
Hey Hey Joe, how you been man? Yea using the dt3d skin shader on this. I wasn’t gonna do any displacement on the head, but the more I look at it the better it will look if I just take it into zbrush and add some.
Jackablade I’ve got that toy its been of great help in making this.
Here is an update on some color of the eyeball texture.
Here is a render test I did.
very cool so far.
Thx’s 1stbrother, Still got more to do with it. So hopefully it will look tons better when Iam done.
Was getting some practice in before I try adding some detail to the clown head. Just a quick mouth sculpt about 1hr of work.
Here is some practice test I did on the mouth model to test out how and what I need to achieve fairly realistic skin for dark skin tone. I figured that about 6 maps is good enough. Its very hard to do darker skin tones compared to lighter ones were you can play with reds and greens to bring out the skin.
excellent lips
only Mic Jagger has better!
thanks for shareing your method
Stunning lips Miguel. I’m psyched, wow, this test is looking superb man!
Testing testing, that’s what it’s about… keeping up your chops.
Do you have other specific facial feature tests too. Lovin it!
I think that the trick is begin with a ocre color(sometimes more yellowish, or more redish depent on the type of skin) and over it put darker colors, you have to think that the darker color tend to grey and they lighter to ocre.
And they use to have the shape of a “mask” around eyes and nose usually lighter and the lower part of the face(beard stiple and neck) almost grey in men and no so darker in women.
you were right saying don´t using reds.
Rmember that the shine on a black skin it is more evident and the skin is less transluced.
Anyway your lips are really cool and they have the feeling of black skin.
Good work,
Arturo
Pilou
if the lips are any indication this is gonna be good.
These lips look fantastic indeed
jantim
thx’s for the comments.
Polaris30: yea I think Mic just might win that comp, he could swollow those lips with out a sweat.
joe: “Hey Joe where you going with that gun in your hand” Humm humm humm good to see you post here man. Thx’s glad you like the lips. Testing Testing is correct the neverending battle, testing is only half the battle! Speaking of this test also helped me gauge whats possible with my skin shader never really pushed it like this, but hopefully I can go further with it still in the final model.
DHARMAESTUDIO: Everything you say is so true, esp how darker skin becomes almost more dependent on the specular reflectance. Getting the tones is diffcult to capture. Yea also the translucent qualitys are different Iam assuming since the skin tone is darker it absorbs more of the light than scatter it inside than would say a peach light tone that scatters light more.
Frenchy: Pilou Pilou Pilou Pilou Pilou !!!
1stbrother: Gonna try to do alot more than that test, well at least I’ll try
jantim: Thx’s
