After work sketchbook - SR (nudity)

hello scott
Yes awesome sketchbook.
nice to see the progress here , motivates me to do some more head sculpts and think about the underlying structure, especially the zygomatic bone

A.Fredenucci - thank you kindly
schiefer - I love doing head sketches and faces. Expressions are my next goal. I will post an example very soon. Thank you for your comment

Yep Scott, a good idea to post the progress, cause it’s lookin’ sweeeeeet! I don’t think zygobones come much better than the ones on this guy! I’m a bit jealous about the polypaint too :+1: .

Very nice DR. Gregory House  (Hugh Laurie):+1:

Really nice sculpt mate and really nice textures.

Any chance of you sharing your lighting, rendering and skin shader setup for Maya mental ray? It would be great to see how you put your render together. :+1:

Scott, you rock man! Nice work.
My only crit is about his ears, maybe they are too fat?
Awesome modeling / polypainting / rendering!
Keep it up!

Nice render dude! Looks awesome. Great work on that zygomatic

Nice work Scott! :+1:

Wonderful renders on that face, lots of great observations for the sculpt and beautiful skin quality.
And good to hear that you’ll be focusing on expressions, I look forward to that. I was also thinking of doing a study like that, if time allows I may.

Somehow I`ve missed the last few updates.
I love your sunny sunday afternoon sketches
also the rainy one.
Great new work, scottleroc!

Looking Good my friend, Your last head looks incredible. :+1: :+1:

scott
your always an inspiration buddy
this is cool stuff.

Anychance on expanding your render workflow for technophobes like me?. I only ever export static images and rarely get past zbrush renders with loads of PS work. I just wondered if anyone could help me out with a GUtile method of getting to and fro from zbrush to maya.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks for sharing! I was gonna say your shader settings are very high for the size of the mesh in Maya, but you mentioned they are not final so ignore me. Not seen that HDR image before. Where is it from? My one crit would be that his eyes look a little bit lifeless. Friggin awesome work other than that. Are you gonna do some hair too?

Hey Scott, thanks for putting up the walkthrough :+1: ! Looking forward to the updates and ,hopefully, another walkthrough, since this polypainting and rendering stuff is all new to me! :+1: !

Well done that man! :+1:

Seriously good of you to take time out and share your workflow mate, much appreciated. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Nice work! Hugh is looking great so far! House is such a great show and Hugh is an immense talent.

Looking great and thanks for the breakdown!!

Looking good Scott! :+1: I was gonna download decimation master this weekend and crunch a few models down so I can get some decent renders. you recommend it then?

Looking great, Scott. Anatomy looks fantastic and that’s a mighty fine skin job. Only two crits are ears and eyes. On the ears I think you need to define the anti-helix a bit better, it’s more obvious with the skin shader applied for whatever reason. The eyes look flat. The iris should be concave and the cornea should be convex. Also, make sure you use raytraced reflections and refractions on the cornea/outter part of the eye. You can find the appropriate index of refraction for the cornea online
I can never rememeber those things

Anyway, again, great work man.
