Love the tooth faery! Amazing skill!

Guys I can’t thank you enough for your kind words.
I hope this will help Intervain to see what I was trying to do
The idea was to NOT copy the film version. As I said I prefered the concepts to th film version. I ill post a picture of Wayne Barlowe’s original and you will see it is actually pretty wrinkled so I wanted to capture that in the evil version.
So anyway I think this will make everything clearer.
This was a 2 part exercise and here is part 2.
The idea was to really contrast the 2 expressions one hard and angry and the other soft and almost child like.
Anyway hope you enjoy these updates. (the one yesterday was just a test really) Here is the second tooth fairy, and yes I know the wings are motion bluredand there is no SSS on the wings. Its suppose to be an illustrative approch I just liked it as it was. I will do a second pass in Mental ray but I love these images for now
BTW - This is just a Zbrush render with a photoshoped background.

This would print out sooooo well.
just checked your blog too…very nice stuff.
I agree…very awesome stuff.
yeah ok - I looked at the book [I have it :)] and you’re right the pencil sketches are rather mean looking and hairy heheh… nice
I spent a while on the wrinkles trying very hard to work out how his mouth would work. I set morph targets to check constantly that, in reality when he opened his mouth it the lips wouldn’t look flat or disappear over his head
It had to look good in both poses and I just figured ’ there is a lot of lip meat so it would have to wrinkle up like this’. That’s why I didn’t like the film version so much. Also the film version has 2 sets of teeth but it didn’t read well, even on pause, so I went back to the concepts.
Pete - so glad you like it as you are the creature master
Intervain - thanks to you I went back and changed the backgrounds to better suit the images.
EvilSmiley - thanks also for you kind response
Really glad you guys like these guys because I had the most fun ever in the last 7 days making these
I am soo not showing this one to my little kids…lol.
These are great Scott, and I like the illustrative feel you’ve got going for them, works really nicely!!! <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”><img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”><img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”>

Hey Scott, updates ‘re comin’ in fast! I love the latest Tooth Fairy pics. Great sculpt/paint/render/presentation (absolutely love the muted / subtle color palette)! !
Hey Scott, I haven`t seen you here for quite a while and I have to say GREAT new stuff! I love it! Did you use Zbrush only…also for the painting?
Awesome!
Cool characters, it would be good if they were to appear in another movie. There were so many amazing creatures in that HellBoy. I’d like to see the concept you are referring too, is that possible. Interesting to read comments of those who have’nt seen the film.
GoofyFoot - I did make a kid friendly version
RawSunlight - thank s very much for your kind words

Hey guys finally managed to embed the turntables
Hope you like em
I’m diggin the turntables. Great work. I especially like the have eaten tooth, nice touch.
I love the tooth fairy!
Turntables look good, I was’nt sure if you could post them thats why I asked. I googled them and found an article on RottenTomatoes that has an image of them, it looks alot like your model.
I like the holly/mistletoe leaves for wings, and the choice of those particular leaves, as they have alot of mythological/historical significance.
