Afro Samurai Ztools and Game Models

cool, great work, they have a wonderful feel.

I’ve not played the game but from what I’ve read game from forum posts and such its visually stunning…I can see why…

Omid,

I starting drawing about a year into my stay at Cogswell College; I think I was 22…now I’m 29; I think if you start in modeling,…its not like completely starting from zero in drawing, at least you have cultivated an analytical eye for form, anatomy, ect…but without doing life drawing, whether from photos or live models, I just go stale, not sure why…even now, if I go too long and just work from whats in my head, or just do assignments without recourse to studying, I just feel like I’m not only not progressing, but actually getting worse…thats why in my opinion I don’t think I’ve made a completely linear progression, sometimes I’ve gotten lazy, and just wanted to do what it takes to get something done without cultivating my skill,…but ye,…I think the best stuff I found for beginning drawing, is by Glenn Vilpuu (http://www.vilppustudio.com/) and Sheldon Bornstein, whom I had a class with, (http://www.sheldonsartacademy.com/)

both have videos you can order or download,…and its really helpful,…but of course everyone has a method they prefer, it helps to study u’re favorite artists as well…

AgentEnigma,

ye,…I guess Afro Samurai the game got mixed reviews…I was glad that most of what I heard about the art was positive…If you play through the game, the slicing and dicing of characters is really fun…it almost never gets old for me,…like doing my favorite skate trick over and over,…I guess what I think a lot of people take issue with confusing level layouts, discontinuity, ect,…but hey, design isn’t really my area, I mostly play side scrollers from the nineties anyways (kindof got gaming A.D.D.), so I should leave my comments at that ;)…
