Well, Vue takes any light-situation and handles it in a way that even a first time user can get best results.
It has not to be complicated, and it has not to be in a price range where only pro’s and/or companies will not get hickups.
But - I am a hobbyist only, and so I might be totally wrong.
Bicc wheres the link for vue ?

My eternal thanks to our host Zbrush
Look at Siggraph team, by the way.
Edit: only zbrush would allow you to come to a section of their
forum and basically trash their program and suggest others.
I appreciate that they allow frank and sometimes insulting posts
to be put here.
That’s probably because no one comes down here:D
Also if you are that good, you don’t really care.
I made this a while ago, VUE5i with Zbrush. Vue5 works well together with ZBrush.
Lemo
PS:Saved your bacon again ehhhh Bicc39
Would have mentioned it but was shy:D
Since I have been a trouble maker since the day
I was born ,and will undoubtably get my ass kicked
out of here one day…
I would like to point out the obvious, that my views
are my own and in no way reflect that of anyone else’s.
I sometimes feel that when I mention anyone else’s name
in my posts that I am taking them on the long downward
slide with me.
Lemo thats real cool render, but where is the tutorial for renderering using zbrush ???
We all waiting as marcus will be busy with his plugins and mytholon never comes down to the community level, So you are the only hi-fi guy who can do something for us in zbrush.
I mean the tutorial on rendering and lightning.
bicc you take me on q long downward slide without even naming me

Any how you two tell me how good is this software for rendering special effetcs- I mean i dont want that realism- for cartoonish look will it do wonders ? and how difficult it is to use… and the list goes on…
I’d love to see, lemonnado do a tut on rendering! I’m new here so I know it’s a bit cheeky to ask, but I’ve seen some of your other tut’s and I found them easy to follow and very useful. You have a real friendly manner, not to mention a really cool accent
bicc you take me on q long downward slide without even naming me

see what I mean guilt by association.
I bow to Lemmonado in all things ( almost all things).
Let me point out that in Vue, what is involved ( zbrush wise)
is importing your obj, with texture etc, setting up cameras,
making render adjustments.
The great thing about hdri, besides the quality of the renders,is that
you don’t have to spend a really long time with lights etc.
A few minor adjustments in the atmospshere editor and you have
great results.
For an example of special effects, on the Vue site there is a movie
with planes coming over and bombing landtargets.
To try and demonstrate tutorials if you don’t have the program is a tad
difficult I would think.
Bic what I meant was tutorail of zbrush in zbrush style rendering
. I mean we dont even know how to use lightning properly. in this magic software, forget about learning in another.
For vue, I just wanna know will that help in my comics ? If it will then I might think about it or else not required intially.
Angel ya its cheaky because Lemo answers very less even to such demands of mine , but then he knows I am like this only
I try doing things doesnt matter they actually happen or not, but then You may never know, somewhere in a corner lemo has already started work on a tutorial.
.
More of you keep asking for one, he might consider the request.
somewhere in a corner lemo has already started work on a tutorial.
.
If lemo is in a corner, I can guarantee it ain’t with a tutorial.
I meant corner of this planet- - Dont take me wrong Bicc- you very naughty
bicc is only naughty if he is in same corner as lemmo or wearing a raincoat and rubbers on a sunny day(oops wasn’t supposed to bring that up again was I?)
i think as far as rendering in zb goes…for all of us…it’s all about experimenting. No one person I think has all the answers…the trick is to keep up on posts, any posts…past and present on materials, and glean what bits you can inbetween your own experiments. I found a base lighting and mat setup i like and use it for everything then render different versions with diff colors, lights mats for later in photoshop.
zb is one of those everything is quite intuitive yet like life the deeper you dig into the more complex it becomes…it’s rather wonderful that way.
@aminuts: been quite a while since I heard somebody describe the GUI of Z2 “intuitive”!
@wickedsunny: get the demo (Vue).
@bicc: would you mind telling what corner exactly (where, when, etc.)!?
For rendering in general: I do not think that the presence of some lights and a bit of shadow is a hint for the presence of rendering (as we might know it).
It can be a bit of a preview of how things might look, nothing more and nothing less.
Z2 is terrific in some aspects, but it certainly is no Jack of all trades?
Ooh, that’s pretty harsh, Zaphod!
I don’t know much on the subject ( I know zero, truth be told ) but Zbrush does a really ‘convincing’ if not true to life job of making things look realistic, to me at least.
Anyone think renderng will have been tweaked or improved any in v2.5?
Right, this is how the truth often is perceived: harsh!
Once you get the notion that you “know zero”, and if you consider this to be the truth - had been harsh?
The truth eh? So your word is a universal truth? That’s gotta be a first by anybody! But yeah, zero knowledge or not, I have eyes in my head mate, Your comment is harsh, unless your calling work that’s finalised (and sometimes entirely done) and rendered in Zbrush simply a preview!? That is a bit ridiculous and belittling of peoples Zbrush work, mate!
Anyone here consider Zbrush renders simply ‘A bit of a preview’ as Zaphod puts it?
Thanks for the lovely PM Zaphod, I shall treasure it forever, NOT!
The bloke has a giant ego and some ‘problems’ I’d say!
… and just enough decency to keep personal stuff out of the forum.
Yeah, unlike me eh?
Have absolutely no idea WHY you have taken this so personally! Not that I even want to know.
I can see the point being made as ZB’s renderer doesn’t support, SSS, Radiosity, GI, Caustics or even Raytracing, so for realistic stuff you do have to employ so serious faking, but it is a very capable renderer & “a bit of a preview” is a tad in accurate in my opinion…
Play nice guys, forum fueds are pointless, just agree to disagree…
