A Guiding Light . . .

Hi Kat . . .

Thanks for the comments. I did use the “Depth Cue”, if you look closely you can see where the depth starts it’s blurring right in back of the light house & gets very blurry at the very back. As far as the “Fog” goes, I used the Fog with an Alpha to get the rain, but maybe I’ll play with it some more & see if I can get both.

Have a good one & I’ll talk to’ya later . . . Mark.

I put my glasses on (not a joke) and took another look. I can see your cue a bit.

Hmmmm. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but the lighthouse light is too perfect.

That or I’m NOT perfect and am getting too damn finnicky…(gee now wouldn’t THAT be a surprise!)

I will be posting something I built in 3DS Max and then imported to ZBrush for finishing. (I only have the demo of 3DSM, so I’m trying to use the hell out of it for the next 15 days…)

Then i gotta rob a bank so I can go buy it!

 (That’s another joke Mr.Government Bot roaming the net for keywords)

SO once I post this thing, please feel free to pick it apart.

You rock, Kruzr. Very nicely done. And don’t apologize for it being different from the other stuff – it’s great to see ZBrush being taken in fresh directions.

Lots of great eye candy in this one. The more you look, the more you see.

I just figured out what it is about the lighthouse beams that’s a little off. There’s not really any depth. It should be brightest along the center line, getting darker as it goes to the outer edges.

That idea of using an alpha’d fog for the rain was pure inspiration.

Looks fantastic Kruzr, wonderful job and beautiful technique. :+1: :+1: :+1:

that had some real live effects nice job Kruzr.
2 thumps up on that one.

The waves at the bottom right are truly magnificent  … . , staring into the water

Excellent Pic Kruzr! Well done! Lots of small detail! :+1: How the dickens have you made the sea?

That IS So good–Very different-- great composition-- details-- mood and ‘story’

A Delight…house…

Absolutely incredible image, Kruzr! I’m amazed at all the little details, from the boarded up windows to the anchor above the entrance. Superb!

:+1: :sunglasses: :+1:

I am now trying to figure out how to say I am speechless being speachless.

What a great picture. The waves are so realistic and the detail is great! The rain gives it a really unique look. After reading the posts above about the lighting from the lighthouse, my eyes are drawn to the light a little, but overall it’s outstanding!

:+1: :+1: :+1:
Wow Kruzr - This IS great!

There is so much good in this, I can’t believe the depth I feel in the rain and sea. The turbulance is perfect - as Sunny mentioned, the bottom right is particularly effective. Great all around detail :+1:

Knowing this structure could stand for centuries, It would be really cool to be inside during a mighty storm such as this

jd

WOW, absolutely fantastico, Kruzr! the sea and rain are gorgeous and seem to have been taken from one of those great about 2-300 yrs old oilpaintings about sea-battles or the like and the details on the tower and island are lovely and :+1: :+1: :+1: executed… more of that kind, please!
