Cool design; I love it!
Thanks Nick! I’ve got to spend more time with ZApp Link. I usually do everything in ZBrush but your textures are so clean, I have to try it.
Cool stuff man!

Very nice, generous as always
Well deserved top row!
congratz on top row . and kickass model.
Awesome… just awesome!!
Awesome model Nick! As usual I read that you were experimenting with baking maps in Maya. I thought I would share with you a Mental Ray shader that I recently came across. It basically simulates MatCap shading inside of Mental Ray. And it bakes really nice too! Where I work we bake a lot of lighting and shading to our textures because the simulation engine we use doesn’t support shadows or normalmaps.
I used to use the Material Baker zscript, but no more!
Here is the link: deepMatcap
BTW, the shader doesn’t support normal mapping out of the box. The easiest way to add it is to connect the output of the deepMatcap to the incandescense of a lambert. Then just connect the normal map to the lambert and assign the lambert to the model. The shader doesn’t require any lights, but if you want to light the model along with the matcap shading just connect to the color instead of incandescense.
Many thanks for all your generousity.
Like the explanations.
Far better than some in the books and dvd’s, maybe…???
Hi Nick! Congrats on Top Row! Many thanks for sharing this unbelievable package. Great presentation, very insightful and above all: an awesome sculpt!
