Product sculptures for A Little Lovely Company
It's a pleasure to work for producers of physical products, such as publishers of home decorations and kids room products. Using ZBrush I created the 3D sculptures for two new products that have just been introduced: a unicorn money box and a Swan light in two sizes.

Thanks Mark. Hahaha, I had not looked at the subject matter from that angle. This calls for a thorough investigation into malpractices in the world of chemistry!

A Little Lovely Duck in a store
During a visit to the Dutch city of Utrecht, I attended the Keck & Lisa store, where A Little Lovely Company's Duck lights were happily sitting on a shelf. I was the Duck's 3D modeler for A Little Lovely Company, using ZBrush, and seeing it actually displayed in a store results in a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Hehe, they're delightful. Thanks for sharing. Can you imagine these floating down the old canal of Utrecht in the evening all aglow?!!
  • MetinSeven
    04-14-18
Muchas gracias Mark! Wow, yes, the lights floating in the canal would be magical, and a nice publicity stunt as well. I wonder if the lights would be waterproof enough for such a stunt. Have a nice remainder of the weekend! M7

ZBrush-sculpted lights
For a while now I've been sculpting 3D models for A Little Lovely Company products, such as these cute little Duck lights. A Little Lovely Company provides character sketches, and my usual workflow is creating a base model in Blender 3D, then I head over to ZBrush for detailing. Due to confidentiality, I can't show renderings of my 3D model, but the final product turned out to be satisfyingly close to it. I'm very proud of the result, and holding a physical version of your digital sculptures is a magical feeling, especially if it lights up. But even cooler is knowing that thousands of children across the world will fall asleep next to my illuminated sculpture, and that it will become a childhood memory.

Freestyle male head sculpture
As ZBrush 2018 has just been released, I wanted to have a go at the new Sculptris Pro mode. The result is a freestyle male head sculpture. I started with a simple sphere and used no reference, because I just wanted to play around and see where the session would end. I really like Sculptris Pro, particularly the way you can easily refine and smooth details in specific areas without the need to retopologize the entire model.
