Tesla Skull Study
Some experiments with my digital portrait sculpture of Nikola Tesla. The skull is originally the European Male Skull 3D scan by http://www.3dscanstore.com/, then modified to fit my pre-existing Tesla's facial construction. I consider this as a way for me to put my artistic facial anatomy knowledge to practice, anyone who realizes incorrection or discrepancies in the placement of the skull's features in relation to the face please feel free to give me critiques . Thanks! Rendered with ZBrush BPR, thanks to nice material package by @pablander: http://www.zbrushguides.com/zbrush-form-materials-pack/

Battle of Cascina - First Eight Warriors WIP
Hello everyone, It's been a while since my last post, so here are some quick renders showing what I've managed to block in so far for my project of turning Michelangelo's Battle of Cascina to digital sculpture. Of course there is still another huge amount of work to be done, but thanks for viewing!

Improvements
Hi guys, I've closely studied the reference and meticulously cleaned up my Warrior #01 over the last two weeks. Not until having cleaned things up did I realize how wacky my previous version of this piece was. Good to learn, as always. Below are some new KeyShot renders. Thanks for viewing!

I really like the result. The muscle definition is really good. The only thing I would change is I would leave a bit more space for the "acromion process" on his right shoulder. But that's just me. Keep it up.

Oh that's right, vlad74, I agree. I didn't notice that until you pointed out. I'll definitely fix it. Thank you so much! : )

Battle of Cascina - Warrior #03 - WIP
I'm having a huge hard time translating this guy to sculpture from very own sketches by Michelangelo. Some tough problems to solve are relationship between left forearm and left shoulder, relationship between right hand and the pole (not visible here yet), and relationship between head, neck, and back. The original looks both powerful and graceful at once, and sustaining such magic created by the great Master is a real challenge for a novice like me. I will be working on the hands over the weekends. Hope to hear you guys' comments and critiques. Thanks!

Another two more renders. I'm moving on to Warrior #03 now. A little bit intimidated because it's the first one among the figure group I encounter for which Michelangelo's studies are still available to us. Let's see how it turns out!

Two Warriors Unite
Hi guys, Finally I have had time to update my Warrior #02. Let's see how this project unfolds itself. I also launched my humble Kickstarter campaign here, just for fun: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mushogenshin/michelangelos-battle-of-cascina-2d-to-3d-warrior-0 I'll keep moving on regardless of its success. Thanks for you guys' comments and support!

Battle of Cascina - Warrior #01 - WIP
Hi everyone, My first post on ZBC! Nice to meet you all. I've been working on this warrior from The Battle of Cascina, a painting by Michelangelo. (Too bad the original cartoon by him was lost, and what we have left are only, well, fairly mediocre copies.) This is only my first pass, so there are still a lot of areas for me to work on. Here are snapshots of subdivision 1, 3, and 7. Please feel free to comment and critique. I'm so excited to continue refining the piece. Thank you all!
