hey thank you I did not upgraded this threads in years haha. I rerendered it last year, in Corona this time to test their skin shader and hair shader, here are some renders I did. ( I alsotweaked a bit more the model and redid the hairs in ornatrix )

I'm just having more fun with Vray, an other test render of this guy haha, make me want to do him like a shot in Terminator 1 ..maybe one day.. I modifed the eye socket and make less wide his head, wich reproportionated his head a bit more I found. I can't do close up of his head, it's a old mesh and not that good for sbrush because the eyes are not close so I get some artefact around they eyes, really tricky to get out of this in photoshop.. anyway, it's good for a body shot like I want to do in Conan version of a Terminator also. Hi, make long time I did not post anything, was busy with work. I started a new character, it's for a contract and I think it will be more real the this one, at least I guess I did a custom Vray hair shader wich I gonna use on him and I have enhanced the skin shader too, so I guess it will look more real, I will post when I have something to show if the client doesn't mind. On the other hand, here's some new tests render of the eye of this character, with updated skin and little details in the eyes socket region. Also, with Vray 2 you can put a prepass id wich is really cool, since when I did this project I was using Vray 1.5 sp3 I think and this option did not exist, so I had inconsistency between different element of the eye socket, like the lacrymal gland (because they were separated mesh), in some shot the sss was too strong etc. Now everything fit better togheter. I also did some work on the liquid shader,etc. by the way the AA is low, it's 1-2 instead of 1-4 for final rendering, it's why the eyelashs are jagged.. eye thumbnail.jpg New eyes test.jpg Rox29 : these were specular, but you can get same result with reflection, or almost same result. thank's all for your support!

Thank's all ! jamesgcraig : I should crank up the atoms in the collagen so it look's more unbiaised combined with a melodie in the eyelids color to make it blend more with reality..... some more eyes color here I need to decide wich one I choose not easy haha wha'ts your top 3 pick's in order?

Thank's all! Long time no update so here is one. I again, modified the face proportions a bit, I think I prefer it that way. Also I some other eye color and a new lighting, more soft, more feminin...cloths still not done ^^ Hope you like it! save the image and check it in big, it's a big render. I made other color variantion, as 2 types of brown, 2 types of green, 2 types of blue etc..I may post more but I like these . (brown is good too, gonna post soon )

    The collegen density doesn't look completely right around the nose and cheek and light brown red hair normally means different skin type the eye lids don't look colored properly and they do not have a very wet look or rather depth. The variation is...

Hey thank's a lot folk's! I appreciate you'r comments. As for the pose, it will be RIGGED so don't worry about it for now For the online course, I plan to do a male, since I consider myself even more a specialist in that field and the goal is to learn anatomy at the same time, so something like a bodybuilder or something like that is the best to understand all the muscles,tendons,connections,veins workflows,volumes,etc etc. The website should be ready soon , it will explain better what I gonna show etc. It's going to be a Big courses, a complete course, on how to create a character production ready ( for cinematic let's say) from modeling,sculpting,edgeloop animation friendly, (with my tips along the way on how I create my characters of course) and texturing,shading, lighting, etc. So here's an other lighting, What do you think? And a new necklace.. need some displace on the chain and some tweak...not finish what do you think..? Feel to heavy a bit maybe?. I will do the cloth soon I know now wich one I gonna do ^^.

Thank's all ok, here's an update. I started a REALLY basic cloth just to see how it would fit.. and tweaked the ponytails (those floffy hairs are going through the neck.. gonna fix it ) I tweaked a bit the lower lip, etc. I need to fix the diffuse in the chest area of course.. still little fix to do here and there but it's getting there.

thank's all A new ponytail, with shorter forehead ( I like woman with short forehead ^^ ) and I corrected the nostril, added some more assymetry to the ears, rotated the eyelids of 6 degree's outward ( and I had to replace the lacrymal liquid etc.. apin in the a$$ ) I'll do a shirt, probably a V-neck black one to see how it look's on her. After that I will finish the diffuse, removing some edges and some tweak on her chest, etc. Finally gonna add back some make up Also, when I'm fixed with wich iris I go for, I will tweak it to the max with displacement etc so it should look better in the end. Green eyes, brown, light brown, yellowish ? Wich colors guy's ^^ what's you'r tough on that?

Thank'S a lot everybody glad you like it. Rendered with Vray as usual, a little update here, on the lacrymal liquid in the eyes, rotated some textures to make it assymetrical,etc) I started a render with long hairs now to compare with the same lighting. For those interested, I plan to do online course on how I create my character from A to Z so let me know if you'r interested if I have enought peoples I'll do it.

Thank's all I'm back to it after a brake.. So here's 2 haircut ( and the render with the long hairs she has the facial hairs while the other one don't have.. too long to render) I tweaked things there and here and tweaked the long haircut also.

    Love the 2 haircuts! the overall project is absolutely amazing. The only thing I would change is the curvature of the top of the antihelix (ears), I would push more into his head, but hey this is just a matter of taste, top row !!

Hi all, I reworked the girl, here's an update, tweaked the diffuse a lot (based on some of the comments.. more color variations etc, I fixed the lips color etc) , new eye shape (and I will retweak them now.. making them a little bit less wide, from the exterior part..) , new hairs shader, tweaked the sculpt,etc etc etc.

Hi guys, I did a completely new hair shader set up. I think it's much better and I dropped the blond strands.. looked fake and changed all the colors.. here's some test with it, with GI and no GI ( best result is with GI especially if you use dome light.. big big difference..)

ok and here ? I constrated the diffuse and bring back the color variation I had. Modified the orientation of the hdri map and desaturated it.. and activated the GI for that test.. still no facial hairs too long to render :P

Thank's all Here's an update. I modified the diffuse, I put back the original eyelash shader ( I may do some very subtil tweaks..) I made some change to the reflection component, I have a procedural bump to add more hight frequency..but I don't really need it I have enought resolution to do it without.. I kept it but lowered it almost 3 times lower.. it was making the skin surface too busy.. now it's better and I tweaked the reflection more here : (not the same lighting though but similar) .. Hi all, Here's an update. I removed the make up to fix a bit the neutral expression ( but.. as I saw with a rig it could had been done easily and mush faster..) and I tweaked more the hair shader, trying to correct some weakness of the vray hair shader. I also lowered the eyebrows, thickned the eyelash for the unmakuped version.. I also tweaked eyes surronding socket color ,etc so some minor tweak here and there.. and yes I may add some scars later. The earring are just a test.. I will do some shorter one so it do not have to interact with the hairs once rigged.. More to come soon. She will be rigged by the talented Clovis Gay ( I hope render times will not be too crazy .. :S for sure it will not be fast lol )

Quick reply : thank's guys here's a little update here, nose wider and longer and a quick sticky lips effect added and changed the skin tone (maybe too tanned now..) . Hi all first thank's all! A little update, started to work back again on it this week , took a break had other things to do. While taking a brake, when I got back on it, I found I had made some changes that were not for the best but was making it worst so I took back an older version of the skin and (in this case also the diffuse, I will update it with the newer diffuse I'm working on in the next update,just small changes and fix like removing the lines that goes from the corner of the nose around the mouth etc). I will also do the nose a bit longer in the front view,etc. Also, the hairs will get a massive update (on the hairs transition line on the side, since I made the hairs on one side go behind the ears, wich I think look's better) and I wand to do changes especially at the hairs bottom I have something in mad that will suit her better then now. I also tweaked the veins in the eyes and made iris more brown and a bit smaller. I want to do a morpher this weekend for a smile to see how those teeths will look Anyay, here's a sneak peak of what's going feedback welcome

Thank's all Hey guy's I need your feedback now Here's some of the first render with the head ( surprisingy Vray managed to render all of it in one render but I don't think I will be able to render it in 5k like I want at the end.. .. but at least for now I can finally have a look at how they are looking now with the face etc) and I would like you to tell me wich variation you like the most between them etc. Notes: I started to do a glossy map wich is not correct for now.. reflection are too low in some place like chin,neck, and too strong in other like forehead.. so just to say don't comment on that it will be fixed.. The hair shape is not final yet, but starting to look good I think. As for the oranger strands, it's the first test so I will take them further and make those strand more blond I thin, anyway, you can give me your feedback as I said about the general look I should go for and I'll see what I do after Also she will have a neck lace and other earrings by the way, and cloths.. the clavicule need a bit more work since at first I had in mind it will not be seen.. I'll fix that. (also, this render is with the new nose, do you prefer it ? ) So there we go: LOOK IT IN BIG PLEASE NOT IN SMALL Edit : I can't wait to get her rigged.. she will look MUCH MORE ALIVE

Hey thank's guy's Here's an update, I started the hairs almost finish the base hair shape, will need to add more hair strands but I think the most boring part is done now And a cropped version of the full render that was W/B . I will put the nostrill darker and more redish in the diffuse, it's what attrac the attention.. the diffuse is not finished yet in some place.. like this one so it show`s. ha and some noise small render of one light changing posititon to see how the eyes react. these are older render,with older make up so don't look at it too much lol.

Hey thank's guys I'm glad you like her,Here a photoshop job with hairs to show you how she gonna look with hairs. At first I wanted to do a messy bun, but that hair cut fit her pretty well so I say ok, let's do it instead The maps are 8k out of Zbrush. The base model has about 3500 polys (wich is what I use in max and I apply the displacement on it) and in Zbruh the model goes to 14 millions polygons. My computer has only 16 gig or RAM (3 years old rig so..) and it's taking all of them! I would not be able to render the hairs in one pass sadly.. I need a new pc lol.
