Creature Designs
Hi guys, here I share you some creature design that I did in my free time, all was made in zbrush and photoshop, including the rendering inside zbrush with BPR Playing with the transparency features in the materials Gif Proccess 01 via GIPHY Gif proccess 02 via GIPHY Gif Proccess 03 via GIPHY Gif Proccess 04 via GIPHY

  • Thank you so much man, most of this result is achieved in the composing part, using the render passes from zbrush and blending all together to get the final look, in the Kurt Papstein tutorial you can see the entire proccess to get the look

Matt Flesher - 4R8 Beta Images - Part 4
My final Beta piece is a sci-fi gun based of an awesome design by concept artist Prog Wang. You can see the original design here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g...f-638d05271a49 As with the other pieces, this was a lot of ZModeler and Arraymesh combined with the new Boolean system. It was so awesome being able to make tweaks to this and really fine tune it in a non-destructive way. This is an earlier test render: And a few WIP screenshots:

Matt Flesher - 4R8 Beta Images - Part 3
The next images or of a little Bluetooth speaker I modeled. I modeled it off of a real speaker I have and this was actually the first thing I did just to really dive into the new Boolean tools. I used a lot of Zmodeler and boolean, along with some Arraymesh for the speaker holes. And my speaker was black, so I decided to liven it up a little. I'm working on a breakdown of this as well that I will hopefully post soon.

For the Zbrush 4R8 beta, I have been experimenting a lot of things and most of them are related to 3D printing First, I'm working on a 1/1600 scale StarWars Imperial Star Destroyer, the Avenger (Episode V). It's a mix of ZModeler, but also ZSphere retopology, then boolean, the new (to do tubes, I love so much the Bend Curve!!) modifiers, ArrayMesh and so much more. The beauty of the boolean and modifiers and Gizmo is that it's working with all the ZBrush features. I still have a lot of work to do on such project as I will go insane in details, but the addition of the boolean, gizmo 3D and deformers as well as ZModeler makes such project easy with ZBrush. For the shield generator, it's a mix of parametric primitives, boolean, ZModeler and Arraymesh. using ArrayMesh makes editing easy! Turbolasers are just booleans and parametric primitives and few deformers. I did some test prints of course! Another great benefit for 3D printing is not only the key creation which is easy but also the hollowing which can be dynamic and the doing some dynamic slicing to check overhang and undercut parts. Because of the Live Boolean you can fix areas in realtime which is a game changer and a productivity booster! The 2B's pod fro mNieR Automata that I created during my previous ZBrushLive sessions. You can't imagine my frustration when I did some parts as I wanted to do them in 4R8! Then only the splits are made with 4R8 and the boolean.

The Rage
This is my personal creation project. The story is about the madness of a gorilla who is tamed in a circus. The gorilla is trained to perform boxing show with other animals. He has to fight with tigers , kangaroos, sometimes bears maybe. Also, not just the gorilla , all other animals in the circus suffer tons of torture day by day. Just to amuse people. Finally , one day, an unstoppable fury drives the gorilla strike out the punch of destiny. The punch got to be heavy, got to be furious enough. The ringmaster got to be knocked down. Or it would be the last rage of the gorilla ever…… I use Zbrush for most of the modeling process, uv seams and mapping, and some basic texture polypainting. Zbrush really provides users lots of powerful tools . Zremesher , UVmaster , Decimation Master , Dynamesh , Zmodeler , Panel loop , Nanomesh , these tools all play very important roles in modern modeling process. It really releases the freedom of shaping 3D-geometry. -- https://www.facebook.com/YangKuanYu E-Mail:timmen8e7@gmail.com QQ: 2407795187 https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3QENE If animals could fight back to the cruelty, will people understand the pain and the sorrow of other beings? I dedicate this work to anyone who is fighting against animal show and animal abuse in the world. Please say NO to Animal Show and Animal Abuse.

Overwatch Characters Art Dump
Hi, my name is Renaud Galand and I’m the lead character artist on Overwatch here at Blizzard Entertainment. It’s my immense pleasure to introduce you to the Overwatch character team and share with you some of the high-poly work that’s helped support the final assets you see in the game as well as in some of our animated shorts. Overwatch has been a labor of love and passion since day one, so it is very exciting for us to finally be able to show some of this content. If you’re not familiar with Overwatch, it’s a highly-stylized team-based shooter set in the near future. The game features objective-based maps based on real locations across the globe as well as a diverse cast of 23 heroes (and counting!)—each with their own unique arsenal of weapons and abilities. You can check playoverwatch.com to learn more, or watch one of our gameplay trailers to see everything in action. UEYp1RTvllM Zbrush has been a big part of our character creation pipeline since the very beginning, filling different roles such as helping us quickly concept, sculpt, and blockout ideas in 3D and creating our final high-poly assets. Keyshot was also used to render all the images. All the work you’re about to see was created by the Overwatch character team including Hai Phan, Matt Taylor, Kyle Rau, Niles Doubleday, Hong Chan Lim, Leticia Gillett, Donald Phan and myself (Renaud Galand). *Please note that this is the first post of many and our team will be adding more content as we have them rendered and ready to be shared* And lastly, these characters wouldn’t be what they are without the help of a lot of people outside of the character modeling team and I’d like to give a big shout-out to everybody in our concept, tech art, animation, audio, story and game design departments for helping us on a daily basis to make these characters as iconic and awesome as possible. We all hope you’ll like it ! © 2016 Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. All rights reserved. -R

ZBrush To Photoshop Experiments-Breakdown![Part01/02]
A'righty! This is the process I've been messing about with for the last several pieces I've posted here on ZBC. 1. It all starts with a fairly loose sketch in ZBrush, mostly blocking in the larger shapes & elements, silhouette, posing and color indications. At this point I don't really worry about blending surfaces too much. As long as I have the major plane changes and shadow shapes it's enough information to work with. After which I setup a BPR with some filters to get a base render to work with. [I typically use the sharpen, reflection and color correction filters a lot, but that'd be a post of it's own!] 2. And then into photoshop it goes for some color grading. 3. After that I mix in some passes generated using the ZBrush To Photoshop CC plug-in. [If you haven't yet, try it out! It's handy and saves a ton of time all while keeping things organized!] 4. Then comes the lighting. I use a blend of both a custom lighting setup and also the ones generated by the plug-in[usually the rim lights]. 5. And then comping in some effects like SSS, Shadows, Bump, Fog, Normals, etc. I also tend to use the wireframe pass to add a bit of texture from the dense hi-polyness [Doesn't always work as intended but it's cool when it does, haha] 6. And the last step: Paint, Liquify, Paint some more; Repeat till you're satisfied with the result! So, I hope you guys found this useful! Would you like me to elaborate on any particular step? Lemme me know! -Sudhan

The Commander
Finally finished this character after much work. He is the main Antagonist of a story I have been developing. His basic story is that he was the commander of a mission into deep space...not sure what the mission was but the idea is that they got lost and disappeared for 200 years. Think of the Marie Celeste legend, but set in space. Now he and his crew are back and not too happy either. Something went wrong and they are looking for the man responsible.... Or that could be one of many stories..maybe we will never knwo who he truly is..or was... any way hope you like him! I will be adding his second in command later... All work done in Zbrush and Maya, with some textures in Mari.

Hi ZBrush Central. First post on here. I've been checking out the forums for a while and have seen a lot of amazing work. I've had the honor of working with Chris Cao over the last few months and I want to give a special thanks to him for being a rock star mentor and for always pushing me forward. Also thank you to my lab crew for giving me constant feedback throughout the process. The suit is Mass Effect and Halo inspired. Edit: forgot to post the high poly which was stupid because that's sort of the point of zbrush... lol here it is anyway.

Apeman Anatomy Study W.I.P.
Hi everyone, This piece has been around for a while as a 3D printer test model. I feel I owe him a body. So, I decide to make it a perfect practice to study anatomy and pick up my traditional art skill. My reference for the poses is the famous sculpture Hercules and Cacus by Baccio Bandinelli. And of corse, the anatomy figures from Andrew. I like to keep low poly meshes as long as I can, here is what I have sculpted so far at 200k polys. Any comments and suggestion will be appreciated Cheers,
