Yeah, I think I was using them to cut in extrusions into the back of the ball shapes. Instead of modeling out extrusions in more complex shapes, I've been trying to use booleans more to do the work, because unlike using trim brushes and extrusions, etc. I can just move and change the shape of the cutter at any time to get the result I want. I think these are pretty simple. Sorry if I am over-explaining this. Here are a couple of examples. This is the ball joint with its cutters, and its result. Sorry I changed the camera after taking the screenshot. You can see I didn't really worry about what I wasn't going to be able to see from my camera view.

I see, that makes a lot of sense, it's a great advantage that you can edit it any time. Thank you for the thorough explanation .

Welcome to my Dark Universe - Good Night Doodles 2017
Welcome to my Dark Universe Night Doodle Sessions, Some of you propably seen my spamming sessions on my old threads http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?195902-zaddiction-sketchbook-2015 I haven't posted artwork the whole year due to having no wifi and a functional workstation in my tiny ass studio.., but now is the time to show some good night doodles which I try to do every day after my working day at MPC, so be prepared I will try to go to the internet cafe every second day and start throwing out some of them, so be ready All of these doodles are more considered as quick concept sketches, since I want to go and develop more into concepting sculpting in the vfx, gaming and 3d print industry. I would love to take all of these sculpts even further, but time is just too short and I personally get bored quite fast, so I love doodling and coming up with more ideas, rather than spending weeks on one asset. But enough of the small talk. Some warmup doodles to start with Please check artstation for a higher resolution https://www.artstation.com/p/800Lw #pixologic #zbrush #artstation

Polyframe Flourishes
Rafael and Erik, thank you so much , much appreciated. A new test piece working with polyframe renders and because it's in 4r8 I just had to have a go at bending things! With this piece I played utilizing polyframes in a much more regimented way to experiment with graphical effects. Yours etc, Boozy

Polly Frame's Perambulations
Knacki, thank you - much appreciated. With an interest in ZBrush as 3D visual synthesizer as well as a sculpting tool I decided to play using the facilities of booleans to create a BPR render that reads like a loose crosshatch sketch using ZBrush's polyframe settings (Transform Palette + Preferences>Draw) whilst utilizing the poly structure and polygroups of the subtracting forms in a Boolean operation as a means of drawing. Also used > Tool (subtool)>display properties> polygons draw size - to create effects where the linear division between polygons can be widened and also represented in a bpr render mask. I'd like to explore the possibilities of this more as well as other features of 4r8. What, I asked myself whilst doodling, if polyframe settings could allow for further settings beyond the representation of the actual polygonal structure by including functionality that allowed for further pattern and abstracted divisions with regard their polygonal representation? Fanciful thoughts soon gripped me that effects of grain and noise were also possible by the fracturing of these linear divisions of the polyframe settings as were polyframe setting for outer lines only - outer lines to concentric center etc etc Yours etc, Boozy

I always liked the Chozos from Metroid, and I wanted to do a redesign and play with some new processes. 95% of it was done in ZBrush with a little work in Modo and Fusion 360, and it was rendered in Vray for Modo, with some post process work in Photoshop. Working 9-5 , Bavarian Array.
I took ZBrush 4R8 for a test for the first time and set a time frame to see how far I could get within an old fashioned working day of 8 hours . I started with an array for the trees and took it from there. I must say there's a great flow possible thanks to the new features. Fiendishly clever stuff Pixologic, 4r8 is exquisite to use. Thanks Metin and Dillster for the kind replies to the previous post and expect more random exploratory experiments and sketches as I take 4r8 for further spins. Yours etc, Boozy.

League of Legends World Championship 2017
I was in charge of the Sculpt!! http://www.lolesports.com/…/ar…/what-2017-world-championship http://watch.na.lolesports.com/en_US/worldchampionship/en I have worked on the main visual art for “League of Legends World Championship 2017”. League of Legends is one of the most popular online games, and it has more than 100 million players worldwide. The popularity is so high; there are many pro players all around the world. Those chosen players gather to participate League of Legends World Championship that is held once every year. More than 40 million people either view the event at the venue or watch it live. It is the first time for a Japanese artist to be involved in the Championship main artwork, and I have already received an overwhelming positive response.

Stephen Kemmy's Sketchbook
ZBrush sculpting and modeling ________________________ Blocking Out From a Drawing: Graphite - Cat from Disnet's Bolt Concept Artist: Jin Kim is a South Korean animator ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Block out of Disney's Cute Pup Reference: Disney Drawing _________________________ The eyes are not to my liking. I would have to reflow the edges using the Zremesher guides brush and then ZRemesh again to sculpt the eye area in a different way. It is only a study in blocking out the form, using the drawing as reference. I blocked out the main body and head forms using an insert brush and moving around the shapes... spheres cylinders... Then I dyanmeshed the meshes ( 256 resolution) and sculpted in the primary and secondary forms I zremeshed ( default settings and a poly count of 5) from the dynamesh and reprojected the dynamesh on to several sub div levels. I saved the initial forms as obj. files so I can use them again if I was to block out this kind of dog again _______________________________________________________________________________________ Block Out of Disney's Goofy Goose _____________________________ A formidable beak to admire.
