Ville.Studies

Hey guys!
Decided to start a new thread, to track my studies now that I sort of have a program to follow. Felt the old one was all over the place, going to try to keep this one neater.

To start of, the 3rd head study finished, as well as the 1st and 2nd.

Any critique will be most welcome.

Looking good, can’t wait to see more. I really like the Olivia bust.

Thanks a lot man!!

I’m glad you liked it. You’ve got some great work on your website! Nice reel, looks like fun stuff!! :+1:

Danny!
Dude I was seriously worried !! I thought that you had bumped into one of those floating cubes from Zak’s film ,got curious and actually pressed the button ! lol . good to know you are alive bro
You have got some very interesting studies going on here man , you have a certain style that will always make your characters unique ( the balding man shares a resemblance with the guy from la vie ) . dig it all man . keep them coming!

Hhahahaha I’m ok, I’m ok… we gotta catch up! Still in Van? went back home? I’ll be on msn more now…

Thanks man, I’m glad you liked it! Though, I believe the style is for the fact that the eyes are illustrative and not realistic as should be hehe. I’ll get there, I’ll get there…

cheers man!!

Hey guys, it’s been a while, I’m really busy right now with a client’s project modeling cars the non Zbrush way, but got some time today so I started this. About 30min, no ref yet, hence lots of things to correct. Not really sure where and how far I’m taking this, but I’m leaning towards something “ye olde” since I started re-reading Bernard Cornwell’s King Arthur trilogy

I’m open to suggestions, and of course critique as well.

Ok, not the most popular thread…

I’ll post this one anyway, got some more free time today…

still WIP, gotta refine the arrow and crown, and the face some more… not sure where to take the hair/beard, tested some things, maybe a roman style haircut or something like that…

The Dead King

Ok finished the piece. Kept me going for way too long for just a simple study…

PS.:

I just wanned to take the opportunity to announce that I won’t be posting my work here at ZBC for a while. I haven’t gotten much feedback lately and I feel bad about posting just for the sake of it.

This is by no means a rant or anything like that. I understand this place has a very, very high level of work and I need to get better to fit in better. I’m still going to be posting on other people’s work and being a part of the community the best I can. I just wanted to state this here so it didn’t seem like I just gave up.

cheers and thanks for looking!
Daniel

On that aspect zbrushcentral is a ruthless community.
You have to be a super modeller to get at least one comment and even then it’s not a given…
I know it can be discouraging, I’m in the same spot as you but don’t give up!!
Whenever you feel ready post something!

You will not stop posting Daniel, you gotta’ share what you’re working on with us! We wants to see but we all have to few hours in a day: just take a look at some top threads; some generate a lot of views but relatively few comments. I followed your previous thread, and I am following this one from the day you first put it up!

Hehe, u quitting? Why? because you’re better then most of these guys? That’s why they aren’t commenting really, either they have nothing to criticize or don’t understand if it’s better than they got used to. You have to know that most guys here aren’t creative really, just comforming, and you’ll see that those comforming get all the praise. That’s the mass phenomena. Masses are dumb, only one head for millions to think with. You’re one of the best here, including me hehe, which doesn’t get the credit. Don’t worry, they are only human, keep posting, for yo might get some useful comments, and doing what makes us happy should be our only pay  Anyways it’s good to get or not get comments from morons, you’ll be better prepared for your employers. Also mind it’s the hsummer break, so some are not here to comment.

Anyways what I’m saying, do what you like, and if you like to please people do that too.

If it wasn’t for you or people with as much skill, I couldn’t be a better artist toping what you’ve done. Thanks and stay with us.

Bye

wow, thanks a lot for taking the time guys it means a lot to me.

dk79: Thanks man! You’re right, but I really cherish that in here. It’s part of why it is such a great place, it’s honesty. Not all that feels good is good, so I think none is a much better response then a fake one. Thanks again!

Etcher: :o Thanks man, really. I shall post then, regardless. I really appreciate that you’re following still, that alone is reason enough for me to not stop posting. I figured no one was really interested, and it was sorta of an imposition. But you’re right, I do see a whole lot more of great threads then what I actually post comments in. Thanks again!!

Hi Daniel,

don’t be discouraged by the lack of feedback, I’ve had even less
Post because you’re proud of your work - as you should be, there’s some beautiful modelling here.
Someone will pop by at some point… Etcher usually

Keep up the good work
H

Some really nice studies here! I do have a critique though, for your second model - Cappy. Although he has some great exaggerated facial features, I fel that his forehead may be a bit short for his proportions. Other than that, awesome work! Keep posting, would love to see more!

Yeah man, don’t get discouraged. I’m in the same boat, just try and use it as motivation to push your models further. You got some good stuff, keep it coming. <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/upload/atn.gif”>
