Zbrush Skuls to Silver ones...

new-skull-zpost-4.jpg

here is another skull as well as the wax it is used on.
this is a size 5 ring so it’s tiny you lose allot of detail.
but in the biggers sizes it is clearer.

Hey stranger! Derek P here. beautiful stuff. Dave C sends his best. He has scan editing software that will handle million plus meshes with no problem. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you like. We have a lot to catch up on. Congrats on the website.

The feather was zbrushed as well.
see derek, not all skulls
how are you man.
my email is [email protected]

These are great!!!

I was considering actually making jewelry from some 3d designs but then I discovered that I had to convert the models into STL files to have them made. That means I’d have to learn Rhino or another program that makes STL files. Thanks for that information about the details and poly limits for the jewelry making process. That will help me in future if I ever decide to take up the jewelry-making path.

Cheers,

I have been looking at milling, rapid prototype models and the jewellry side… I have taken a 1.2mil poly to Silo from Zbrush as a .obj and then exported it as a .stl, took some time, but later opened it in Rhino and it was fine, my problem is no one does any of the sort in our country, so I have to send it to South Africa.

There are a couple of guys on this site that can give you advice, I will post their info a bit later… I know if you guys come right I eventually will to…

Work looks great…

Yes you can get model that sizes into rhino but you have to reduce down 70 - 85% to get anykind of usable tool path. the mills computer and programing has to be able with the file… and mine eats it very fast on a file that big.

What other software to you use to take your zbrush models to the mill? I would love to get into this type of work.

You might want to try blender. it has a decimate modifier that you can set to different levels of poly reduction. www.blender.org

Hi all, check out this post: http://209.132.96.165/zbc/showthread.php?p=457257#post457257 these guys are doing massive sculpts with milling machines, surely the same process can be used on a smaller scale?

I too am interested in this line, but need to research all options before I make an expensive move!

Hi there, great designs, I have a quiestion, is this your real or your screenname? If it’s real, does http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Wittelsbach mean anything to you?
