I bought a mac mini chip m1, and even there it beats my other i5 and i7 machines, this latest imac i7.
even there the m1 chip exceeds them, I work close to 9 million.
so I almost have the full money for the mac studio chip M-1 ULTRA

I forgot about this post, so I thought I’d jump in and give a big update.
I ended up getting a 2022 Mac Studio with the M1 Max chip, 64GB of RAM, and 4tb of storage. It destroyed my wallet for it but so far this machine has been a little powerhouse.
I’ve had no lag at all with 30 million + poly figures, and using Blender and Photoshop while having Zbrush open.
Now, when all three are open and carrying heavy files, Blender gets slow, but other than that it’s been fantastic.
So if anyone is looking for the same answers now as I was back then, here you go.
It’s great. It’s worth it. I feel like this machine will last me 6-8 years easy, hopefully more if i don’t wear it out.
