i know zbrush pretty well but im a newcomer to 3dsmax. i need to learn 3dsmax especially when it comes to retoping and changing the flow of the mesh. i cant even create an ear out of a base head mesh in 3dsmax. but im new to it… i know “classroom in a book” is perfect for photoshop and it taught me photoshop in and out but what is the official/industry standard/best book to learn 3dsmax 2010 …especially for character modelling and changing the topology/mesh/polygon flow (all the small steps like cut, creating new polygons), the basics of UV layouts, how to use the settings of the Renderers-mentalray/vray, shaders, materials and all the basics? ive been studying the advanced stuff that skips/moves too fast past the basics. ive been able to manage just a little but i get stuck from simple lack of knowledge of tools. Which Book/books will over come this tough hurdle and teach the basic/foundations and then move in deeper? any help would be appreciated
i think, if you go to the AutoDESK learnig center, in the forum, they will be able to providde the name of a good book. i dont think theres a book that can teach everything that there is to learn about max. i have found that the tutorials that comes with 3dmax are VERY helpfull. goodluck!
