good to see others having this issue. My intous 2 12x12 at home is fine, my intous 3 6x8 at work, pops.
I eagerly await a solution.

Ok, I finally downloaded and tried the 4.93-3 drivers and they do have the same bug. I went back to the 4.87-2_32 drivers, and Zbrush works flawlessly.
Give that version a try and see if they work for you.
Hi,sorry if it’s an old thread, but I have the same problem, and I installed the 4.87-2_32 driver on my Intuos A4 …and no real change
Some advices ?
I just bought an intuos3 and I am using the drivers that came with the cd and they work fine.
the bump that is present there seems more of an issue with how you are using the tablet more than any issue with zbrush. if you try lightly brushing the tablet while already moving the pen and you don’t have this problem i think the issue is the initial pressure you apply when the pen strikes the page.
try going into the control panel and making the response stiffer, especially adjusting the curves to make the initial response harder.
no matter how gentle i draw, i still get pops from time to time.
i still expect this is a bug…
alright, well i’m using drivers 4.85-6, give them a try. they are the ones from the cd
This issue isn’t present with my Intuos 2. Only the Intuos 3 at work. I’ve tried a few different drivers, but none of them really fixed the problem. Hopefully we’ll get some feedback on some workarounds, or maybe different set ups.
I suffer exactly the same proplem…at work I use an intuos 3 and i thought i was going crazy, every so often i’d get a huge blob on the mesh as if i had applied too much pressure. Unfortunatley i havent found a solution or work around.
I have the 4x5 int 3, same issue, havent really found a workaround other than pressing very gently as i sculpt. but on meshes over 2 mill my comp slows down and its noticeable and i have to go back and smooth out strokes, not fun. And to think i went all out and bought the most expensive wacom
has pixologic made this issue know to Wacom?
has the issue been isolated to being hardware (intous 3), driver, or zbrush?
I don’t really know where the problem lies. The only lead I have to where the issue might lie is the change from the Intuos 2 to the Intous 3. Wether or not that is hardware related, software related or user related is up in the air.
I’m literally open to any workaround. Other than buying an Intous 2 for work! LOL
Well, I just came across something pretty interesting in Photoshop. Notice anything familiar? I am drawing a very light line, and no matter how softly I start the line, it makes that little blip, then it goes to the soft drawn stroke.
This leads me to believe it’s not a Zbrush issue now.
ya… well thats why i was kinda wondering if thats why the annoying issue is still alive. Cuz were pointing it out to pixologic on a zbrush forum. When Wacom needs to be notified, and possibly work with pixologic to find a resolution.
got this from wacom-europe support
" We are not aware of a problem in ZBrush, but we have seen ‘blobs’ at the
beginning of strokes in some other programs.
We plan to have a closer look and fix it for driver 4.95. Probably this will
help in ZBrush as well. "
Excellent news! Thanks for posting that info! I’ll definitely keep watch on that driver then.
any more info? is the driver update done etc? problems gone?
I was getting this too. I have the little Graphire pad. It would pop and hesitate whenever you first start a stroke. Really annoying. So I stopped using this for about a year. I uninstalled it and put it away and then recently I wanted to use it again. So I plugged it back in and used it without the drivers for awhile. Then I put in the disk that came with it. But that didn’t install the right drivers or something because it still wasn’t working correctly. So I went to the website and installed the newest stuff from there and now… No pop! I don’t know what happened since last year but it works fine now. I have uninstalled a lot of stuff from my PC since I originally got the pop so maybe it was a conflict? Or maybe a mouse drivers conflict? Or maybe you need the new drivers from Wacom? I don’t know. It is very frustrating so keep looking. This seems to be a common problem.
Hello,
I solved this problem on the wacom intuos 3 9X12 I use at work:
Go to tablet properties, Pen area, in the Tip Feel section click the Details button. I’ve changed the threshold to a smaller one (or a higher, I’m not sure and I don’t have the tablet here right now).
It worked for me.
PixelMachine, thx a lot! the pain is finally over
by far, this was the most provoking issue ive ever had in my entire life.
good job
Did it worked for you too, or I am the only one that got it fixed?
