Using the "Local" transfrom button is altering the perspective

If you’re zoomed in on your models face and perspective is ON (angle of view: 50) and toggle “Local” (Local Transformations), is it altering the perspective? This doesn’t seem right as “Local” is just for local size/rotate and shouldn’t affect the view.

Is there a setting somewhere I altered unknowingly to affect this? Or is this happening for everyone when you toggle “Local”?

  • It’s even more apparent on larger scale models.

Thanks for any info…

Yes, there are actuallly two types of perspective in ZBrush. When Local is on the camera is adjusted to avoid clipping - however close you get to the model the camera won’t go ‘inside’. This is the same as having the Auto Adjust Distance option turned on in the Draw palette.

With Local (and Auto Adjust Distance) turned off, clipping is allowed and the camera can go inside the model.

Thanks for the explanation! I really thought I tweaked something accidentally to affect it.
