marcus_civis…have you tried to simulate pastel ?..perhaps with a Fiberbrush setting !

PS
Are you painting drawing at the “double” of the 500*500 and reduce it after?
jantim,
I’ve tried chalk. Again this is a 3D brush - the Spherinder using a freehand stroke and reducing the spacing, Zadd off. No material necessary just use RGB. The background is a ‘paper’ alpha I created which gives the brush some pixols to react to. If you adjust the Imbed slider in the Draw palette you get the brush skimming the surface, just like chalk.
Very inventive technic
Maybe as someone said above the Wiki here should be archive a data base of some Brushes regulates
Frenchy,
That’s a good idea, I shall see if I can add something. I also have in mind to do a zscript because some options are much simplified by a little scripting.
ZB’s ability to use a background of your own making is very creative.
Your last remember the Shikuri Zbrushing
(don’t miss this incredible gallery about Go and old Paintings The IGS Art Gallery
And yes a script for manage a Paintbrush as you want will be a task
I did. I’ve found that I don’t have the knack for getting anything out of zbrush that looks passable w/o aahalf enabled.
marcus_civis…that chalk looks impressive …you produce very convincing natural media effects !
Frenchy…i work BIG and scale down in photoshop !!

The BIG trick!
jantim,
Thanks, and you are the Master of the Styles.
Frenchy,
For the record, mine are all the same size as done in ZB.
confetti style…

@marcus : As Jantim trick, only 500*500 result compt,
if you want use more great format for more practical paint no problem if you reduce at the end
Yet number 7 if I don’t mistake
@Zoetrope : Welcome on the planet Cali Earth or Moon
Please keep the 500*500 result if possible!
This one is a a simple drawing in grey-tones in combination with a material that gives out an impresssion of a “cut -out” effect ,or a sort of impasto…

Jantim, you have to make a little drawing course for the inept like me… Go make a tutorial video, I’ll buy a copy!
Lemo
Lemo…i started using the 2D brushes because i’m not that good at painting and drawing…to understand how light effects the colors of a model- e.a. tonal values- is still very difficult for me… if i see the work of great painters i don’t know if i should work harder, or just stop !
…i used all sorts of brushes in 2d for this one, the hair is done with snakehookbrush in 2D and some strokes with a small Zadd, i mostly used the colorized spray with a 2D form, mostly a triangle shape !
So this image concludes the natural media for me ,…i think !
jantim
Jantim,
love the work you’re rolling out. I was groovin’ on Cali’s confetti face render, then noticed the toroids. Even more energy than confetti-- (hmm, what a concept surface to cover a mesh! Like she’s in a Life-Saver’s storm.)
Thanks for showing the close-up of the white version. Whatever you did, looks like carving low relief into laminated paper. Nice work on all.
=dp
Its basicly the combination of a render/drawing & a material with bumpsettings, you can transform any image into a sort of relief if you use a correct material !
…
In the picture below you can see a drawing\render with a flatcolor material on the left,…and the same picture in combination with a bumpshader materal on the right !.
if you set the bump to a moderate value and use a light from the side you can get this result !
