I started this model as a warm up study from a picture that I saw on pinterest
I belive the photographer is Alexander Yakovlev he has amazing images.
I started from a manequim with no symetry as I usually do I decided to make a more
finalished version of this, to see how it reacts with material and shadows so I open the uvs with uv master then send the file to substance painter to play around, a lot of fun to see the model in real time reacting to the shadows and materias is quite nice.
I planing to do this with the other model that I’m doing (images above)
I can say that I’m very inspired by the works of Mariano Steiner and also the last image from TotoDost Classical sculpture, amazing stuff.
Here are few images that I did playing arround with the model.

Gymnastic Sketch 02
I have been looking for a good silhouette and a feeling.
I have not spent much time in these sketches, I’m doing it in a very loose way without worrying too much, to rest a little of this other project I’m working on.
Recently I have been looking at many sculptures of the master Richard mcdonalds amazing works really inspiring, trying to mimic in some way, if that is even possible

This is a study I’ve been doing for some time.
While I was sculpting I always imagined the scene as if it were a father, holding his son who had just died in his arms, looking up at the sky as if questioning why, while the son remains serene in his arms.
That was what guided my thinking as I sought his expressions in order to convey some feeling to the viewer.
But be willing for your own interpretations.
Thank you for viewing.

Deryk, that’s lovely. Well done.
Old School, thank you I appreciate it.
Amazing sculpture. I love the poses - it turned out really great. And rendering is nice and clean - perfect for it.
tks nebular, I’m really glad you liked it.
This year has been an incredible year.
I finally got to go to the Zbrush Summit, which was an incredible experience.
Get in touch with the community, and meet artists that inspire me for years.
So thanks Pixologic team and the community for this amazing event.
Here is a model I made during the weekend, using only Zbrush and Photoshop for the composition.
Inspired by the incredible illustration of my friend and coworker Adriano Bastista who has already made several covers for Red Sonja.
You can check out his work here.

And if by any chance you’re in Brazil this week, meet him at the ComicCon Experience 2018 at Artist’s Alley E31.
Here is a little Christmas card I made with the model.
Good end of the year for everyone and Merry Christmas.
