just a thought, but oin the second one, since he also seems kinda fish like, I would like to see there be actual water inside his helmet, maybe some bubbles, and the water distorting his head. it would be a new way to do a portrait, all distorted, but would be so awsome and new for a space traveler.
kinda like ed harris in abyss ( exactly like that)

Polyguns, neat idea… will try that on a future piece.
This whole concept started after seeing a picture of XFX’s SIL from Species.
I wondered whether I could get a render out of ZBrush that had the same transparent or translucent qualities.
Primarily in the eyes… this lead me to the transparency image below.
Once I did that well, I could really leave it at just that.
Also a few shots of the suit.

woooooww. look at those sharp details on that suit! looks awesome man! i really wish someone (hint, hint—nudge, nudge) would come out with a tutorial series on sculpting those kinds of details on suits and characters. i’d gladly drop some dollars to learn those methods.
