BRILLIANT work there Les. Enjoyed watching the vids too!
Thanks dude. Really gong to try and discipline myself into adding stuff like this on here. I have a bad habit of going long periods without posting here, mostly because of work, but I need to show the mighty ZBC thread a little more love.
Your so damned good at what you do, it’s always a pleasure to see what your up to. But I understand time constraints so do it when you can, I’ll be watching!
Best,
Rich
Sometimes projects that are in-house get bumped around quite a bit to make room for big client gigs. So… just wrapped up another big graphic novel job with Anomaly Productions and before going too far back into finishing up our own stuff, decided to toss out this piece of music-fan art. It’s a sculpt of Zakk Wylde, bar none my favorite guitarist and one of the classiest guys I’ve met in music. It was a fun piece.
WOW. Great stuff. Nice to see you CAN do human’s too! lol
Heh. But of course.
That six horns concept is awesome, great work mate !
WOW. Looks amazing!
Really nice work …
Thanks! I have to give credit where it’s due though: my son is apprenticing under me in our studio and is the one who came up with the concept and laid out a low res dynamesh shape. Since we’re hoping to get this done as a piece we’ll offer to our content customers this coming week, in time for Christmas, and since it was just started under the art direction of his mother on Thursday (my wife is also my partner/business manager in the studio), I stepped in to finish out so we could get it rigged and into our store in time. It’s very interesting to be working with my kid in that he brings a whole different set of generational influences to the table. Since he’s grown up with a lot more of the art styles from gaming, whereas my background is very heavily comic books and older illustrators like Frazetta, sometimes where those things cross over yields results that neither of us would necessarily have stumbled into on our own.
That’s really awesome though. Truly a family business! COOL!!
