Thanks for putting these together for us Ryan. Canât wait for the next installments!!
Ryan,
Another excellent lil movie/article. The best part of it is the fact you mention you also test poses as you make them. I thought I was the only one to do stuff like that but it makes perfect sense considering its the best built in reference universally all artists have at their finger tips. Many thanks for sharing your reference collection on motion, with todays online video technology its definitely a great use for artists!!

Thanks Ryan, these are great.
Hello Folks! Over the weekend I started a new drawing practice: drawing from YouTube!
It all came about after I encountered some fantastic books that talk about painters from the 1880âs, and on, and photography.
Well, needless to say, it opened some doors for me and, in need of some cheap models, I think I found a fantastic source: YouTube!
Here is one of my quick sketches:
I am always on the look out for ways to merge new media with older processes and lately, I have been sketching alot more than I have for awhile. While sketching I have been using information from Andrew Loomis, Kevin Chen and Glen Vilppu to help me quickly describe form.
This new post looks at how we can combine sketching with sculpting. A theme, I will continue for some time.

Hello! I have put up a post on using reference that includes one of my recent encaustic paintings.
[]
Using reference is an important part of an artistâs life and I have spent the last week or so really looking into ways that we can make the most out of the reference available to us as artists as well as find ways to grow as artists from it.
I hope you enjoy it and Happy ZBrushing!
