Saving a brush preset: does not keep my settings

Hi Zbrush community,

just a little question, I have downloaded a brush off the Internet, but it has a Color intensity Variance of 0.5 and I wish to reduce it to 0.1 then save the brush, so that I don’t have to manually set it every Zbrush session.

However, changing these settings then Saving the Brush As gives me a brush with color variance of 0.5 after closing and opening Zbrush again.

How can I change a brush’s settings, then save them (in a new brush or overwrite the old one) so it keeps these settings in future zbrush sessions?
Thank you

All you have to do is edit your brush however you want it, and then do Save As into:
/Pixologic/ZStartup/BrushPresets/

For example on the PC under Windoids:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4R7\ZStartup\BrushPresets\

Then restart ZBrush and POOF there it will be.
Same thing for Alphas and various other nifty things.

Yeah, it’s what I did but it has no effect.

The brush remains the same. Saving the brush under a new name doe snot save as well.

You can note the settings and have it as a macro to do it.

Horus, are you sure you got it into the correct directory?
I do this all the time and have never had it fail…
