I like how this is coming along. Etcher’s suggestion really worked well. Gotta love how ZBrush allows interesting ways of helping us create what we want.
The ribs are looking really good and the overall skeleton so far is excellent. Good show!
This is going to be excellent when you’re done - keep it up
Hi Santis
Have to agree all the way with Stephens thoughts…I haven’t tried Etcher’s technique yet, but it seems to work great, as you’ve demontrated…
I like that quick sphere head study also…can easily feel the underlying bone structure.
great WORK
CHEERS
everything looks awesome. That technique is great. I would like to try it out, but I have a (noob) question : How do you get nice smooth lines from all the sketchy ones :o?
Superb until now !!!
Stephen Babb: Yep, this project have made me understand that Zbrush now a days are capable of more than I thought, and it’s only getting better!
Thanks a lot for your input!
SpiritDreamer: Thanks man!
Oddin: Thank you!
Well, the way I did it was to first loosely sketch out the rough structure of it, so I easily could see if it all fitted together and change things quickly if I needed to.
When I was satisfied with these basic strokes I just filled them in with a larger brush sizes and refined the edges(since it’s poly painting the key to getting a smooth result is to have many polygons, my base was around 800 K).
I then made the paint into a polygroup and used the Groups Loops button under the Geometry pulldown, this refined the edges one last time before i extracted the whole polygroup + the loops around it.
Then on the new rib geometry I used the smooth slider under Deformation to get an even smoothing on the whole mesh.
Hope that helps
HiPi: Thank you!
Hey man! The ribcage looks great ! It’s so cool to see how this method lets you retain the main shape and flow of the ribcage even when all the finer details of the individual ribs are sculpted in. The last image is great: so much solid form underneath all that detailing ! Coolness, more please!!!
It helps a great deal. Thanks a lot man.
That`s looking great, Santis! Very nice ribcage.
Etcher: Thanks alot!
Yeah, it worked out better than I dared to hope for, thanks again for the inspiration!
Oddin: No problems
Moni-Poroni: Thanks a lot, really appreciate it!
C+C as always very welcome
