that creature is great! i have to agree with you the texture takes away from the details. I feel like with different lighting and rendering it could bring out both. Very well done though i love the grey version.
Ah yeah digging it, can see so much more detail/form in the grey render, nothing reflections/speculars would not help in the color version of course.
@Shepard.B - Thank you, yes I think I’ll re-render it at some point, it’s still only dynamesh so there’s no uv’s or anything to work with at the moment.
@Dman3d - cheers man!
Here’s some more on my male anatomy study. C&C welcome please. first time sculpting “realistic” male anatomy also it’s a likeness study of Chris Eccleston. so any pointers on that side of things are also welcome. thanks
I was reading some Berserk recently and came across this awesome looking beasty! I just had to try my hand at making it in 3D still a WIP any C&C is more than welcome thanks

yeah… it’s eyes are sort of made out of fire/lightning.

hey hey man - that’s really coming along. feet - check, open mouth - check
pose!
@magbhitu, haha hey man! Cheers. the head still feels a little off to mee, and something wonky about the feet. also needs fur. not sure if I’ll fibre mesh or just do some sculptural fur. though sometimes it appears in the manga more sleek than fluffy.
haha yeah a pose is in order! wanna make any suggestions?
i don’t see how you could beat this - http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080611154018/berserk/images/f/fa/Hellhound.jpg
still plodding away with my anatomy study, bit by bit hopefully it’s getting closer to proper. any feed back is greatly appreciated in order to progress forward and better understand the human body, thanks.
Hey there. I’m learning all this evil anatomy for a while right now and I can share some thoughts on your work.
THe first thing is the lenght of the neck. Looks very long, also trapezus on the back gives the silhouette a unnatural look.
Ears are too big and head may be too small for the body. It looks like there’s problem with the check bones.
Going down the clavicles look to stright (at list from that angle). Remember that clavicles has elongatet S shape.
The external oblique takesa the whole side of the torso while yours finishes somewere in the middle what is cleary seen from behind
(where it looks like there would be too much fat)
The gluteus maximus is a way too big and round. Also gluteus medius is too big.
I think the upper arm should be a bit longer and the lower - shorter.
From front, the muscles on the upper leg, in a general mass, goes from lateral (iliac spine) to medial (knee) side
Re-check the knee area.
All the toes should be moved forward, that the seccond toe starts closer to the big toe.
THe ankles looks very sharp.
You should re-check the proportions imo and look closer to the reference pictures and measure things.
Good for the measuring is transpose or even tablet pen.
Hope I didn’t put you into a wrong direction with that. I’m learning too
@nebular, Thanks for the words of advice I re-hit the anatomy books, paying a lot more attention to the words rather than the picture this time round
hopefully the measurements are more accurate now. a few things really stood out after a day of being away from Zbrush and looking with fresh eyes, it’s still not perfect, but I feel like I’m learning a lot with this exercise.
The character he is based on, has abnormally large ears so that’s why they are so big… maybe they are still too big, I’ll address that later xD
Happy to call this one ‘done’ was just a little personal adventure, the Hellhound from Berserk Manga stood out to me as something pretty interesting, so I thought I’d make in in ZB. yes his eyes are plasma!

I’ve wanted to make a mecha-bot thingy for quite a while now, what better time than now? so here’s my WIP so far. would love to hear any feedback and crits. still yet to block in the arms and lots of refining on the legs.
Loving the head and wing/fin shapes, and the colours a great… look forward to seeing the arms in
@RawSunlight, Cheers, glad you like. I’ve been experimenting with colors a bit. Havn’t decided on what scheme exactly to go with, will give it more thought later on. and the arms! need to do some serious brain storming to come up with a good design, I’m stuck on the shoulder attachment so far. once I figure that out I’m sure it’ll all go smoothly. … I hope
well Here’s another bit of an update. getting some more of the details in, still a lot of mechanical bits to add.
Excellent mech design! I really like the overall shape. I also love the Hellhound from Berserk. I’m a pretty big fan myself hehe. That character also strikes me as really interesting.
@Berserker44, Thanks heaps man! ah yes! I saw your name a few days back and was wondering if it was in relation to the Manga, awesome series! would you say I do the hell hound justice? lol
Thought I’d try the Posterize options as it’s inspired by anime, time to make it look anime! for now. also blocked in the arms and hands today. slowly but surely getting there. changed a bunch of stuff since last time too. and made a new face!
Still got no idea what that thing hanging down between it’s legs is gonna be… after all it started out as a random dyna-sphere mess-around that I just happened to like the shape of. lol
sweet mech!
Love the posterized renders on your mech.
KEWL!

@magbhitu Cheers man!
@willbrown1 Thanks Will, glad you like them, I was pretty pleased with how they looked too definitely a cool feature.
Decided today to do more speed sculpts rather than spending such a long time on a single project here is the begging of my new adventure! 1hour15 minutes for the elf girl, 1 hours for the tough guy! both started from dyna spheres
@Santis cheerios Santis, yes I totally agree, it’s liberating! I’ve attempted this path before, but that “preciousness” took it’s hold on me and I end up refining and refining and spending way too long on one sculpt. I’ll stick to my guns this time and just try and pump out as many as I can as often as I can Loving your latest creature too! keep it up dude!
