Rocks Are Beautiful (WithZScript)

HOW THE ROCK WERE DONE:
:b2: Plane 3D for sky and Background
:b2: The DepthBrush
:b2: Pick a texture
:b2: Vary brush size
:b2: The apperance of the rocks used is directly dependant on the texture used.

Finally the texture I used was different bark textures imported into Zbrush.
The texture can be downloaded from the the link below.

! Rocks.txt

hi DeeVee
the Rock ROCKS :+1: i like the Black BackGround it makes it apear there is no ending :+1:
By the way just hit your space bar before IMG so your text of your image wont show just Drop it down a line
and check your Bracket at the end it looks Like it Has a space in it /IMG ]

Thanks EZ, I appreciate the suggestion and have done the required.
I hope that members will find the rock Script useful. It is so simple every one can create beautiful rocks.

Joe.

I have to agree with everone, here Joe. Great rocks! Although I still can’t find Mummy or Mini-Mummy in your first pic. Is someone playing a joke on ol’ Slosh? Get me to stare at the pic for an hour trying to see the Mummy. LOL!

Anyway, the second rock formation is awesome. I like the assymetry of it (as life would naturally have it).

Hi Slosh. I would not call it a mummy. It is more like a fossilized person with a younger version on the right shoulder.

OH!

I see now.

Ah, yes. And the vision becomes clear. I swear, sometimes I can’t see my own nose despite my face.

Some fantastic rock work Joe, and I know my rock…
The weathered textures you got are amazingly real, and even the formations are believable.
I think if you were to get a book on geology, and study photos and diagrams of large-scale formations you would be able to produce some one of a kind rock structures.

On a roll here, Joe!

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :sunglasses:

This is Flint Rock.

Hi Sc, thanks for your comments. I have numerous books on rocks of all kinds.
As you can see I have started, I had no intention of posting this image as it was an excercise, but since we are on the same wave length here it is.

That conglomerate formation in the foreground is amazing, Joe…I’ll be looking forward to seeing this one when you’re done…Take your time, this start is phenomenal!
:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

A Lapidaries’ Delight!

If anyone tries the ZScript please let me know if it works ok, and if you create some rocks please post them in this thread.
Thank you very much.

Joe.

oops it seams you click the import Button which wont work for demo.
you can correct it by taking this code out.

[IPress,TEXTURE:INVENTORY:IMPORT]

Hi EZ thanks. If you placed the texture in a folder and then imported the texture when asked for in the script would it work for the demo then? I was worried about that.
So I posted the texture used, so that it could be downloaded
Would you please do what is required and repost it for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

nope demo can’t import texture.
if you Post the Texture you used ill make a zscript were it would automatily load.
or was this the texture you used http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1025316198ond.jpg

Thanks EZ the texture is the bark texture posted with the ZScript, just below the rock formation! you are right again that is the one.

Very realistic work DeeVee. The bark texture is quite believable as rock. All images you’ve posted are impressive.

when you pressed TEXTURE:INVENTORY:IMPORT thats were i added the Bark :small_orange_diamond:Rock.zip

I agree with Filament. Although I’ve taken numerous photos of bark for textures in PSP, I’d never thought of using them for rock texturing in ZB. I shall certainly give it a go now, having seen the results you have achieved. :+1:  :+1:

Thank you so very much EZ, your help will not be forgotten. Now the script will available to more members.

SURVIVING THROUGH THE ROCKS.

Another lonely Saturday night doodle. Just playing with tools, textures, and techniques.
Looked OK to me so I thought I would share it with the group.
