…maybe return

Well frenchy where U been ?

I overlooked this post before but i would really like to have a look at artrage software.

Also you know of any 3d tutorials for comic book illustration ? -Just to improve upon my comics

…is not a 3D prog! Just a crazzy easy 2D prog!

For comics in 3D it’s some large because there are so many style!
You can look here at Zbc some tuts by
Saltapiedras or Mytholon

Yeah I had been wondering where ya were also Frenchy, good to see you back:)

Jantim I am liking that style, well done! I think I have to try Artrage now

Sunny when you went to Daz, they sell a program for about 35 us dollars that may help you a lot. It is geared towards setting up Comics pages. Check it out

Frenchy

I meant any other 2d/3d software specially for comics ? I did checked those links long time back.

Tartan

you know a lot about comics any tutorials online or any book on specially creating comic art - I mean I want to learn the techniques used in comics for long run of my comics.

Also I will check it out at daz - whats the name ?

Great to hear from you again ,Frenchy !
And i have dowloaded “Artweaver” …thats free, and has interesting options for creating brushes, so Tartan if you want to paint…!
Its a pity that you cant work on a bigger scale in Zbrush !..I understand that a bigger canvas would not work with 2.5 D models , but if you just use the 2D brushes there is no need for a size restrain !

i made this in Zbrush, and like the way the brush works, there is some nudity but pictures posted in this Community Forum don’t create thumbnails so…

jantim

Hehe well done jantim. Yes I will be playing with that soon I think:+1:

Sunny the address you are looking for is http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=44889
Sorry, I was thinking it was daz when it was at Renderosity. This is a very powerful little tool, well suited to the venue you are aiming at. Definitely will help you a lot.

Tartan

Great work Jantim! :+1:

Artrage is good but I like the flexibility of ZBrush:

oil_landscape.jpg

You can do a lot in ZBrush but still :no layers for 2D work , output restriction, bristle mode not working correctly, no selecting tools etc…and Artweaver ( not Artrage) has plenty brushes and brushsettings and its" free" …from what i have seen ,and done ,in the short time i’m painting with it, i’m very impresed!
And i’m afraid that the “brush” part of “ZBrush” and its renderer are losing the battle with the 2.5 and 3D parts of this program we all love

jantim

Yes Artweaver is free
It’s a clone of “Painter Classic” + Functions of Photoshop!
This version is now some mature with the clone functions for retouching images!
It’s a very good choice for low budget
Of course it has not the versability of Zb 2D, 2.5 + 3D

I downloaded Artweaver - it looks interesting (and like Photoshop!), though I’ve yet to get it to do anything I particularly like. I agree that ZB would be improved with 2D layers, selection tools and so on…

I used Artweavers artist oil with " captured" alpha to overpaint some sections
…you can select your own alpha’s and use them with the brushes, looks very good methinks !

artweaver.jpg

its at “real” size

jantim

Thanks for the tip. There’s a lot to like about it, and I admit that I have only just started to look at it.

Thanks tartan for the link

…has now a crazzy FORUM
Some paintings too see

i’ll look into it Frenchy !
I made this in Artweaver so i’m not sure if you agree that i post it here, but its Free and relaxing , so it meets the “frenchy Pilou rules”…i hope

I’m all new to this painting stuff so forgive me my errors and blunders in painting but i like it better every day

Happy-Dreams-Tin-Tin.jpg

jantim

Of course Yes!
It’s a realy relaxing image
Myth of Tintin dreaming of pink elephants is a truely metaphysic thing for us :+1:
Very “Platonic” :grimacing:

The Artrage forum seems more “alive” then the Artweaver site…not much going on there
I must say that Artweaver has a lot to offer, but is a bit slow in releases ,only version 0.4 at this moment !
What do you know of Dogwaffle ?..seems interesting and ,ii relation to Painter , cheap !

jantim

Of course yes
Take a look at this old post from the Free bees
Opticpustics are one of the more crazzy things that I have seen for drawing “real vegetations or not”
Project Dogwaffle is a very complet strong 2D 2.5 D prog but with an interface a little intimidating!
(curve learning is a little more long than ArtRage

ArtRAge is yet some complet in this state, more will be not Zen

Ps Take a look in the ArtRAge Gallery of this french arstist ( )
Cedric Trojani (aka graphinc) (forum Gallery : input Author Cedric Trojani)
Very cool style (only with ArtRage : a purist) and I can tell to you that is some drawings that he makes every evenings for amusing his little girl
before she goes to Slumberland dreaming !
Charming
