Hi I get system error of missing file and to reinstall zbrush when I try and qremesh…it worked once first time now everytime I get this error.
[QUOTE=wayniac;963797]Had my first crash on save. It seems to have corrupted the saved .ztl as well, which will not load in ZB4r3. Says error loading .ztl and aborts. Upon trying to load the .ztl in 4R4 i get Out of Disk Space. Virtual memory file cant be used until more disk space is made available.
I am having the same errors on my Windows machine. I have 6 gb of RAM and 185 gb free on my HD. I seem to have had some success with launching as Administrator and unchecking the read-only permissions on the ZB folder, but I still am unable to load some Ztools without it aborting.
Update: I found the problem. Even though I have full admin privileges on my Win 7 machine, I still need to run some installers as admin–I think what happened is that ZBrush didn’t have permission to write to the directory, and subsequently other functions such as virtual memory. Anyhow, the solution, as Will Miller in Support so helpfully pointed out, was to do a reinstall running the installer as admin. That seems to have fixed the problem.
missing msvcp100.dll file…please advise
This looks like a great upgrade and I can’t wait to give it a go.
Problem is that once it’s downloaded my computer thinks it’s a virus and then gets rid of it. Firefox just refuses to let me open the file and IE slaps it in quarantine and won’t let me get to it. Any ideas?
Thanks

This is a Microsoft error. You will need to find the correct Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package or vcredist that works with your computer. The installer will automatically install three different versions. However if you want to try installing them again they can be found in the ZBrush4R4/Troubleshoot and Help folder. If these do not work then your machine needs a different Visual Studio version that you will have to download from Microsoft.
Here is a link to an example. (This is not necessarily the right one, just an example)

For the time being can you turn off your anit-virus software until you get ZBrush installed?
Hey everyone shut norton Antivirus down before downloading it as it is seen as a high threat virus by the software. I talked to a tech there and of course wouldn’t you know it, it is of course Pixologics fault. Why can’t they just give users a choice before it deletes the download. When subscription ends so does Norton.
Peace
soft curve in brush modifiers?
micheal pavlovicch uses it in Curve Insert Mesh Triparts Weld Part 1 of 2 Is it the same as stretch? I made a insert brush and am in curve mode and i dont see soft curve under brush modifiers.
Support: Thanks for your suggested solution to the missing msvcp100.dll message when using qremesher. After running vcredist_x64.exe on my 64 bit machine, I still got the error. Then I restarted my machine, uninstalled zbrush, re-installed it, and the problem still happend. What do I do?
Thanks,
David
Please install BOTH vcredist files. Thanks.
Edit from David: That did it! Thanks.
Yeah I had Norton 360 V 6 report the file as containing a threat and it deleted / quaratined the file. All I did was go into Norton and restore the file. I was then able to install it. No need to disable Norton at all.

jubala,
The switch you want is Stretch (in the Brush>Modifiers menu). It was called Soft Curve earlier in development.
HTH,
Hey there. I’ve been working on a model for the last few hours and had not saved. After a pretty pause/lock up of zbrush, my model reverted to a version of the mesh approximately and hour or two earlier. Is this a known bug? If so, how do I avoid it? My HDD is not no where near full so i dont have any idea what might have happened? I was just just using dam standard, not doing any fancy functions or short cuts. Just POOF.
Auto-recovery is a security blanket, but it’s not bullet-proof. The only guaranteed way to prevent losing work is to make a habit of regularly making incremental saves. This applies to all productivity software; even Microsoft Word!
It’s taking about 90 minutes this morning for me, which is fine. I am happy to see the free update, even if it takes longer than a typical download.
That’s weird. After the 90 minute download, I clicked to run the file to run it, and Windows 7 reported back the installer file was gone. Totally vanished from my computer. Norton had red-flagged the file as unknown and suspicious when the download completed, just as it did with ZB4R3, so my guess is that it for some reason decided to shred it without permission. Oh well, downloading again…
I just looked in the Norton 360 security history, and see that it deleted the ZB4R4 installer after the download was complete because there are “few users” and it has a reputation level of “bad” because “fewer than 5 users in the norton comminity have used this file”. Norton will not allow me to restore it. Geez, I need to disable Norton just before the download is complete so it does not delete it again.
At for what Pixologic should do, on their webiste, Norton says: "Software developers who want to accelerate the reputation building process for their new software applications should submit new applications to the Symantec white-listing program. Details of that program can be found here. "
Greetings,
I’ve attempted to use QRemesher in Mac OS X (10.5.8) and am receiving the following error message:
Unable To Open File
!:/users/Shared/ZBrushData/Temp/objOut
Thanks,
Ben
Thanks Paul,
That did the job.
Some few things :
-We are still not allowed to polypaint in pure black with the flatcolor matcap (the red one is set automatically) :
-zBrush doesn’t remember anymore the screen where you close it, zBrush always open itself on the main screen.
->Solved, I needed to store my config file.
-zBrush is always on top, which mean I can’t alt-tab, I need to reduce manually the window.
->Sometimes it works, sometimes no. A bit weird
My specs :
16 gb Ram
GTX470
i7@2,8GHz
Windows 7 @ 64bit
Unfortunately for me, it did not allow me to restore from the most recent Norton 360 version. I had to re-download. And unfortunately, my wife called me away from the computer for a bit before the download completed (when i was going to turn Norton off) and when i returned, the download was deleted again. Now on my 3rd download attempt… Ugh
Ok so Im having this same issue at work. Ive uninstalled and re-installed twice already today to no avail.
Realizing this is a windows issue, I ran the updater and found that windows needed 19 updates. Installed and Rebooted these updates.
After unistalling and reinstalling a 3rd time (virus scanning turtned off) I’m still getting the missing mzvcp100.dll message.
I searched vcredist files and found an installer for 2010. This did not help and I was warned that it was a dated install.
I’m not sure what I’m missing here but why cant I get a correct install to take place after being fully updated with windows updates? Everything else appears to be functional besides qRemesher…
If you have fixed this can you Link me to the fix file?
Big thanks in advanced. I’m really wanting to try out qRemesher!!
The necessary vcredist installers are in your ZBrush 4R4\Troubleshoot Help folder. Please install both. If you continue to have trouble after that, my recommendation is to use the Windows Control Panel and uninstall all Microsoft C++ versions that it shows. Then return to the Troubleshoot Help folder and install the vcredist again.
